"My employer chose This company has been awful to deal with. It is apparent they are interested in profits over people, examples: lack of training and competence with people you speak with over the phone, no extensions given, no call backs allowed - you cannot speak to the same person 2x period no exceptions. 1 out of 12 people are knowledgeable and can assist, 1/3 of those MAY be nice to you. Cancer treatment for my wife was horrific enough but having to deal with the additional lack of information/communication and delays associated with Meritain made a bad situation worse. ADHD medicine, CVS advises me every time of the exorbitant costs that don’t make sense through Meritain’s prescription coverage. I have suffered from a high burden of disease with psoriasis and after 20 years a Dr. finally assures me of a common, safe, non-biological drug/pill to take, I agree and Meritain refuses to cover it. Overall just a lack of caring, if you’re an employer please pick a different company, if you’re an employee go with your spouse’s plan unless it’s absolute trash."

"This is the worst insurance company I ever dealt with. Received multiple forms for a single ER claim. They claim that they never received any of the forms that I mailed to them. Ask to speak to a manager and they'll refuse you. I made multiple calls to get ID cards for my plan starting in January. I received not one but 4 mailings with cards between January 7 and Feb 7! This is a bad company - do not use!"

"THEY ARE THE WORST IN PROCESSING CLAIMS. THEY TAKE MONTHS TO REVIEW NOTES; MAKE ALL KINDS OF EXCUSES; HAVE FAX MACHINE PHONE NUMBERS THAT DON'T WORK. OUTRAGEOUS!!!!"

"Company is good for a starter position. Most people spend 2 years and jump ship to market competitors. Company is on the lower end of the spectrum for wage increases. 1-4% at the staff level so don't have high expectations there. The company is generous with their PTO and they're pretty flexible with work schedules. Company is doing well but will most likely be absorbed into the parent company in the coming years. Managers are 50/50 most will do what is necessary to get ahead and will toss anyone under the bus to avoid getting taking responsibility for their actions. Some people in the company are genuinely great but as always there are a good number of people that hate their jobs here and it will notice it right away. No logical explanations for their promotional decisions. Managers look mostly at who they can promote for the least amount of money instead of basing decision on skills and work ethics. Huge generational gaps - nothing is being done to confront this issue. Business practices are questionable at best. Good Luck"
