About the Business
Transitional Family Services, located in Augusta, Georgia, has been providing quality mental health services since 1993. Our dedicated staff of professionals includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, counselors, social workers, and therapists who are committed to helping individuals and families dealing with psychiatric disorders and other mental health issues. We offer evidence-based techniques to lessen symptoms and increase the chances of successful living.
Formerly known as CORE services, we offer a range of mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults with emotional and behavioral challenges. Our non-intensive community services can be initiated by various sources including parents, schools, and community partners. Through diagnostic assessments, our multidisciplinary team determines the level of care needed and matches individuals with services to help them achieve their treatment goals.
Our services include individual therapy, couples counseling, group counseling for youth, case coordination, psychiatric evaluations, nursing assessments, and a 90-day intensive treatment program. Our Intensive Family Intervention (IFI) program pairs a team of mental health professionals with clients in need of specialized counseling and support services.
At Transitional Family Services, we strive to make the process of obtaining mental health services less stressful by providing knowledgeable and empathetic professionals. "If you have any other options for services, I would recommend that!! The problem lies with the front desk staff who are completely unwilling to provide anything that resembles customer service. The counselors have actually been amazing for my child, but between the front desk making any sort of paperwork a HUGE issue, and the psychiatrist who thought it would be ok to take a WEEK to bring the prescription for PSYCH MEDS, which led to a hospitalization, I will be switching my psych services as soon as possible."
"This is the THIRD time that they have canceled my appointment with NO NOTICE. I only know it was canceled because I had to GO to the office because my psychiatrist didn't call me for our virtual appointment, and the office wouldn't pick up the phone. I go to the office and they say that she had to cancel it and they say "oh you should have gotten a text" and i didn't. I needed my medicine refilled and bumped up and now I get to be depressed AND have withdrawals. I hate this place."
