"Came here in a pinch during my son's move seriously disappointed 1st on quality and second on the prices!! I don't believe I actually paid dollar for anything in the store. The cashier was rude and then forgot to pack my scissors she charged me for. Will never go back. Just go to Walmart instead even though it's 30 minutes away. Worth the drive."

"This was the absolute worst dollar store I have ever been to. The man working there was one of the rudest people I have ever interacted with. He stopped me and my partner as we were walking around to yell at us. He asked if we were looking for something as we were “just walking through my store moving everything”. I told him that we had picked some things up to look at and immediately put them back (as most people do when looking for things). I didn’t realize a small business wouldn’t want people looking around through their store. What would’ve been a $20 trip ended in us leaving with nothing and never going back ever again. Absolutely rude and disgusting."

"Discount dollar is the only store of its kind left in New Paltz. We already know that most items in dollar stores are no longer a dollar, so there is that. I also try hard not to buy cheap crab made in China so I’m definitely not a frequent customer, but sometimes, you just need that specific item… and this little store just might have it. The sales person was very nice and went out of her way to be helpful which I really appreciated."

"Every product I've bought from this area broke within 3 minutes of use. I walked 3 miles back to the store just to inform them that the products were faulty (no calls were responded to), just to watch the extremely rude cashier close 25 minutes early and bang the window in my face. Never left a non 5 star review at an establishment before this."
