Heartland Cabin Rentals

"Our experience staying at Campfire Lodge was the best ever! The cabin was beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. We stayed during inclement weather and were cabin bound for a couple of days, so all of the amenities came in handy. The hot tub, pool table, jacuzzi and wood burning fireplace saved us from boredom. Heartland Cabin Rentals was so good to check on us and provide information. We will definitely be staying again, and highly recommend this cabin and this company to others!"

"We booked souther comfort with heartland for the week of Jan 13-19th, we ended up coming home on the 18th a day early. When we arrived Saturday night to the hot tub only having about a foot of water but still running we called heartland and spoke to Erin who said she’d call maintenance and have them come out. We called Sunday and were to.d housekeeping would come by and fill it. Which they did. We had to call in the afternoon to find out what had been done we were told they were not sure if there was a leak or not to wait and see then went into measures to make sure the cabin had water because a storm was coming, we asked if we could be moved to another cabin and were told no. We woke up Sunday to and inch of ice and 3 inches of snow we could not get out so we waited till wensday no help with secure county scraping the road or sand\salt. We tried getting out wensday afternoon and slid into the ditch, we called heartland and asked about the roads and when they would be clear and Clay informed us that was not their job we told him we would be out if food in a day or so and needed help and were told they told us to get groceries which we did but did not expect to be snowed in for more than several days.. clay informed us that was our problem and added that it was not their job to do anything but manage the cabin. He also said that they texted us about moving us which they did on Monday when we were already snowed in and could not get out. A company did come and salt about 30 feet and scape the road later that day after my husband ran into an owner that managed to get up there to check on his cabin and my husband talked to him he asked had they contacted us and what they had done to help us. They never checked on us and only blamed us when we called to see if they could help after we tried to get out and went into the ditch. I realize they don’t control weather but they do control their own customer service and they have none. The cabin has several problems the hot tub doesn’t heat like it should, there’s black mold in front of the tub downstairs and the cleaning crew doesn’t clean well -there were wrappers and things under both beds. The pots and pans all the handles are falling off. The appliances are out dated and theirs bare minimum of any utensils. We will never rent from them again just the lack of concern and blaming us was enough, they do not care and will only communicate by text. No customer service and everything is your fault."

"My wife and I rented the Romantic Retreat in Gatlinburg Tennessee through Heartland Cabins on November 9th through the 12 2023. We spent a little over $715.00 for the weekend, worse decision ever. The cabin was nasty and not clean at all. The scenery around the cabin was not a pleasant view, an old truck covered in growth next to a run down out building. The stairs going to the cabin had a big rot hole in one of the steps with bulging stringers underneath. Going into the cabin, you are greeted with a bad floor repair by the bed. The bed was horrible to sleep on. It was worn out and sagged in the middle, one of the corners of the box springs was torn loose and the staples bent outward where they could catch you walking by. The pillow had a rip in it and the stuffing was coming out. The headboard was not attached very well, and we were afraid it would fall off or collapse. The jacuzzi tub had stress fractures in it, and the shower had cob webs in the ceiling above the shower. The bathroom had cob webs in every corner and above the vanity. All three ceiling fans had an inch of dust on them and had not been cleaned in quite awhile. The stove in the kitchen had very dirty aluminum foil under all the burners. The trash can was nasty and dirty. There were cob webs all over the cabin. The rear door had missing door seal, where you can see through to outside. This gap was large enough to allow snakes to enter the cabin. In short It was a horrible experience and a waste of money. We would have been better off to have gone through Park Side rentals, where they actually clean and take care of their units. I would not recommend Heartland Cabins to anyone, and will never stay there again. They should be ashamed to rent Cabins like this."

"It was a nerve-racking drive up the hill to our cabin, but once we got there, it was a very nice trip. Beautiful scenery, nice relaxing trip. The hot tub was awesome."

"We (3 of us) stayed at a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 and 1/2 bathroom cabin overlooking the mountains in Gatlinburg, TN. It was beautiful— however there are a few things I need to address. Our hot tub appeared to be clean— so we used it nightly for the first 3 days staying there. After about the third day, we notified an unpleasant stench from the hot tub water, so we gave heartland a call and they promptly sent someone out to drain/ refill. It was early that morning, so we sat on the deck, drank our coffee and watched the hot tub get emptied. The lady placed the hose in the hot tub, stayed for it to be about 1/4 full then asked us to take it out when it was near the top and informed us we could go back in when it was at a temperature we’d like. Later that evening we used the hot tub, and again for the next few nights of our stay. On the last night I began noticing red bumps in/ around my armpits that were a little uncomfortable. I started to wonder if the bed I was sleeping in had beg bugs— we searched but didn’t find any. We then assumed it must be bug bites from outside since we had spent a lot of time doing outdoorsy things. After 2 days of returning home the bumps only worsened and became pretty painful. I ended up going to the doctors office and was informed I had a bacterial skin infection caused from a dirty hot tub. Hot tub folliculitis. I was placed on oral antibiotics and sent my way. How frustrating seeing how the only hot tub I was in recently was this cabin. I have grown up with hot tubs my whole life and never encountered such infection. Looking back, no chemicals were ever placed in the hot tub after it was drained. The lady also never took the filter or tubing out that houses more water/ bacteria when draining it. The hot tub never had a chemical ‘bleechy’ smell when opening it. Not alright. Other than that fiasco we really enjoyed our stay.
