"Samantha Dicken is genuinely one of the best mental healthcare providers I’ve ever had. She’s friendly and engaging, and makes it clear that she really cares about her patients. She always asks lots of questions to understand what I’m going through and is clearly a very empathetic and compassionate person. I think the best thing I could say about her is that I wish she could be my therapist as well as my psychiatrist, because our appointments really are thorough enough to feel like a therapy session. I could not recommend her and the friendly staff at Abby Road enough."

"I was searching for a new psychiatrist and one of the most important things to me was working with somebody willing to prescribe medications off label. I specifically inquired about a drug called Modafinil. The office called back and we scheduled an appointment and I naïvely thought the office would relay that information to him. During the appointment, I went over all of the medications that I’ve tried and failed. I am considered treatment resistant. I also shared with him my interest in trying modafinil off label. I had researched and learned that this drug can really help depression that presents with extreme fatigue and exhaustion. During the appointment when I continued to inquire about Modafinil, he’s simply didn’t respond. He was trying to push Spravato on me and I told him that I wasn’t comfortable with doing that just yet. For those who don’t know, spravato is esketamine and you sit in the office two times a week for 2 hours and you may disassociate and hallucinate and you also can’t drive. So this is a much bigger commitment than trying a new drug. I left that appointment feeling very frustrated and confused. I followed up with an email asking again about Modafinil, citing the studies showing how modafinil can help when used off label for depression and the office reply was “Dr Coram has reviewed your email. At this time he does not recommend scheduling an appointment with him as he will not be able to meet your medication request.” That was it. I’m at a complete loss as to how someone in this profession doesn’t want to help people with mental illness."

"I've been a patient here for about 4 months now and I absolutely love it. The office is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. I am so happy with my care provider, she is very attentive to my needs and is more accessible than any provider I've ever had. If I have any problems, I can reach her very quickly with the help of the staff. I've always felt like a small fish in a big sea in psychiatric care, but Abby Road makes me feel seen, heard, and cared for. After trying a few different places, I believe this is the best mental health care facility in Monmouth county. I would highly recommend Abby Road to anyone who needs psychiatric/mental health care."

"I started coming to Abby Road about a month and a half ago, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about this practice. This is my first time working on my own mental health, so I know finding a good psychiatrist can take a little bit of trial and error before you find someone that works for you. That being said, Tony was the first doctor I met with, and will also be the last because I have no reason to leave! He is very thorough in his explanations, does not prescribe any medication without taking all the necessary precautions first, and listens to/answers any and all questions and concerns I have. I was so anxious to talk to someone and now I genuinely look forward to doing so because Tony has been so helpful and patient with me. I also just recently started meeting with Amy, one of the therapists at this practice, and she is great as well. Very sympathetic and helpful, and a great listener. Amy does not downplay any of my feelings or emotions, and I can tell she is very invested in helping me grow as a person. Side note, everyone at the front desk is always so friendly either when I call or come in for appointments!!! I have nothing bad to say about this place, thank you for all you do!"
