Jack's Surf & Turf

"We have been coming to Jack's for years. My wife loves lobster and they prepare it perfectly. The owner Greg waited on us so we asked him why the name change from Jack's Seafood Shack to Jack's Surf and Turf. He said that they take pride in their non seafood entree's and hoped the name change would encourage customers to try them. So I ordered their burger and it was excellent. It was just as good if not better than the gourmet burger places in Montclair. Next visit my wife will still probably order the lobster (no restaurant does it better) but I will order something other than their seafood offerings. Also appreciate the fact that the owner, Greg was working the floor and interacting with the customers."

"Hands down, Jack’s is one of the best seafood restaurants in Northern NJ. I’ve been enjoying their food for years now and recently tried their catering menu. The ordering processes was smooth and simple, and I couldn’t have been happier with the results. The lobster rolls were the hit of our party! They were stuffed with lobster and each one was consistently perfect. Well worth the price! And the mini crab cakes and fried shrimp were to die for. And I’ll let you in on a little secret—Jack’s also makes the best homemade potato chips. People are still talking about the food two weeks later! Oh and the best part—it was delivered on time and in the most professional manner. Next time I have a party, I’ll be calling Jack’s to cater it. Now, in addition to the catering menu, you must, must, must try their lobster bisque and New England clam chowder. The best soups outside of the Boston area I’ve ever had. And the fish & chips are amazing. Whether it’s Door Dash or in person, Jack’s does not disappoint!"

"Rating this spot a 4.5. Mostly for their clam chowda. Had a craving for a lobster roll. Ordered the Lobster Roll Plater ($28). Chose the Main roll and side salad with coleslaw and pickles, and also ordered a cup of their new England chowda ($9). The lobster roll was delicious. Nice pieces of lobster in a warm bun. The salad was wilted, I could have done without it. But the true star of the show was the chowder. So creamy and flavorful with nice pieces of clam and bits of potatoes and onions. I loved it. Was such a comforting feeling eating that. Never expected to enjoy it as much as I did. Definitely returning. Would love to dine in too, nice atmosphere and in a lovely area.in Montclair."
