"This is a fantastic trail to visit if you live in Hampton Roads! I will warn you that it's 5 miles long so just be weary of the markers along the way to know how far you want to go. It was a really pretty and warm day in January when I went and the view of the water is gorgeous. There's quite a few twists and turns and it's not a flat or paved trail so prepare for some bumps along the way but nothing treacherous. You get to cross several bridges that are numbered and there are a few looking areas as well. All in all I think this is a must visit park in the 757! I went in from the North Entrance next to the museum so there was plenty of parking."

"Awesome trail for the family. You will see all kinds of wildlife during your walk/run. It's such a great way to get out of the city while in the city."

"Haven't been here in 15 years and forgot how nice of a trail this is. It's pretty much all up and down but nothing crazy but I wouldn't recommend a wheelchair or elderly people doing the whole thing unless they're in some sort of shape. Also, I would walk the trail clockwise because there are some confusing sections near the museum as to exactly where the trail is at, it's not clearly marked."

"4⭐️ Nice 5 mi trail. It’s was pretty crowded when we went but it was really pretty. It’s mostly flat, a small incline here and there, nothing crazy. I definitely recommend on a nice day."

"Great trail, gorgeous scenery. Offers shorter run 3.5 and full 5 mile around the lake. Best advice get there earlier in the evening, they close at sundown. They begin locking certain gates at 7. Have fun and enjoy your run, hike, or nature walk."
