"Covered shelter was new and clean. No signs of vandalism yet. Trash cans were clean and liners freshly changed. No dead bodies visible from pic nic shelter. Ample parking and river access for fishing or wading. I was fine to eat my sandwich and walk the dog there, but if you have to shake the dew off your Lilly you have to go to a convenience store nearby. Otherwise, these days you should always look over your shoulder and be aware of your surroundings. Stay close to your vehicle in case trouble arrives, and watch your step. Open a 529 account for your kids or grandchildren. Contribute ten percent of your pay to a 401K or IRA so you can retire before you die.... Have a great Life!!! God Bless You!! ......and take time to enjoy a roadside park with a dog every once in awhile. Bill Out."

"Great place to put in the Roanoke River for kayaking or tubing. A little treacherous to get down to water. Around 8 mile float to Greenhill Park."

"Our dogs loved it. Way better than walking them in the rest area on I81. Would like to have had steps or a ramp down to the river."
