"Newly changed name to Motel 6. Nice staff doing what they can, but this is really a budgetary accommodation, so except nothing else. The neighborhood is probably not one of the nicest areas in this town."

"I'm not one to give bad reviews but damn. Roaches, poo smeared down the side of the bed, unwashed bedding complete with smeared makeup and blood on the pillow cases. I had no problem getting a refund but the lady at the counter acted like she was disgusted with housekeeping, then hands me refund and says "New Yorkers are so finnikey." She was disgusted with my disgust and I honestly found it funny, however, I don't think this is a legitimate motel. The sign does not say Rodeway Inn but everything inside does. The sign said something like Cozy inn... Yet is listed as Quality Inn on Google. Who knows. One sketchy place though."

"Horrible! I stayed a week (not by choice) because it was a service given to me by an organization that helps veterans and their families. My wife and son were with me at this place. First off, the advertisement is evasive - it USED to be Quality Inn, it is now Econolodge but still the same place! My son, wife and myself received bites from bedbugs this whole week (I even caught one and trapped him in a plastic bag) and this is after being moved to a second room for the same problem. Secondly, they say that these bugs are waterbugs but they aren't - they are adult American cockroaches - I know 'cuz I researched it. One was 2 and a half inches and I AM NOT EXAGGERATING !!! I saw 5 adult cockroaches between the two rooms but this one was by far the biggest one between them all. I spoke to the kind gentleman that seems to run or manage the place and he said that it's a water and sewage problem and it's not his fault; he said this when I showed him the bite marks on my son's face and he moved us to a new (not new at all ) room. I went to get breakfast and the paper plates were dirty and the area was engulfed in gnats. As a soldier I deal with it but when I think about my wife yelling and running away from the bathroom more than once because of roaches that are bigger than my six year olds' ear and waking up to take him to school every morning with fresh bites on my body and blood on the sheets I figure the bed wasn't worth it. This Econolodge (formerly Quality Inn/Old Towne Hotel) doesn't even look like it could pass inspection for business. Maybe SOMEONE SHOULD LOOK INTO IT. The kindness wasn't enough. I figure the people that run it don't care, I figure they just want to make money. By God's grace I'll never have to stay here again. It was horrible."

"The Quality Inn at London and Elm is possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I was encouraged to stay in Portsmouth, because a friend said that some parts of Norfolk are really bad, and should be avoided. This area was said to be pretty good. -- I don't think so. This particular building is being used as an extended stay, and there are many tenants who are using this as their permanent residence. They yell at one another from across the parking lot - which is extremely easy to hear. Even over the sound of the air conditioning unit running on high-fan. The shower in my unit wouldn't output hot water. At all. I finally sucked it up, and got into the room-temperature water, which finally heated up after about fifteen minutes. Luckily, I planned ahead on day two - and preheated my shower. There are a lot of homeless individuals who hang around the Rite Aid next door, and the 711 on the next block, who will beg, and follow you should you choose to walk anywhere. No one in the main office at the Quality Inn seems to bat an eye at the goings on around their property. Even at 3am, when a foul-mouthed argument breaks out amongst their tenants, they can be seen behind the desk, scrolling through their phones. The television service is atrocious, and it's quite clear by the ghosting, and noise in the picture that they have split a single cable line to every unit on the premises. Most channels are unwatchable. This hotel may be decent for a quick sleep while driving through, but I wouldn't recommend staying here if you can avoid it."
