"In the last 2 months I have traveled 16,226 miles, and stopped at many many hotels. This Motel 6 is one of the very few saved in my maps to stay at when I am in the area. The room rate was great, and even my dog stayed for free! Location was great, the people were fabulous, even the other guests were super nice. I made sure to look at license plates in the parking lot, and 99% were Virginia plates. If you're in the area go here. You can pay a lot more money be across the parking lot but you are in just as good of pans As You Are at the motel 6!"

"Oh, what a find! If you've ever fantasized about staying in a place that rivals the opulence of a five-star resort, your dreams are about to come true at the Motel 6 off I-64 West in Richmond, VA. It's the kind of establishment that leaves you wondering if you've accidentally wandered into the lap of luxury at the Ritz-Carlton. Seeking an affordable yet less-than-impressive motel for your accommodation needs? Look no further. If you're under the illusion that a restful night awaits you, think again. The uncomfortably lumpy mattress and non-existent cotton sheets guarantee a night of tossing and turning. The ambiance is truly unique — picture a symphony of loud arguments at the front desk and impromptu sprints down the hallway. Think of walking barefoot in your room. No problem, you will enjoy the uncleaned floor, and your socks will pick up all dog and cat hair. Who needs pleasant scents when you can have a hallway carpet adorned with mysterious stains and filth? Feeling a bit lonely and in need of some company? Embrace the delightful presence of cockroaches – there's an abundance of these charming creatures eager to keep you company, and they might even accompany you back home free of charge. But jokes aside, my three-night stay in the kitchen room turned into a room-changing extravaganza. Broken doorknobs, cockroach infestations, and a heater malfunction on a bone-chilling night were just the beginning. Despite booking a kitchen room, the day manager conveniently informed me there were none available, coercing me into a regular room. Kudos to the night manager for eventually securing a room with a kitchen, and thankfully, she waived the charges for the chaotic first night. As a seasoned Motel 6 patron, I've circuited the nation, but never have I encountered such a rundown and downright filthy establishment. While the motel may have potential, it's poorly managed. The surplus of surveillance cameras at every corner serves as a stark reminder of the safety concerns that plague this place. The entrance and front desk alone boast no fewer than eight cameras. Perhaps the open invitation for pets to stay for free is the reason behind the thriving cockroach community. The pervasive aroma of pet food and the occasional canine marking invite these uninvited guests. Cabinets in the rooms also bear the scars of dogs who found them to be excellent chewing toys. In conclusion, the Motel 6 on I-64 West in Richmond, VA, is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. If you're searching for an experience that challenges your preconceptions of luxury, look no further. I'm generously awarding it a solitary star – because, let's be honest, not every establishment can claim the title of a winner. To be completely honest, there's nothing positive to report about this place. It's in an extremely poor condition. The room floor was covered in pet hair, and the furniture seemed to have fallen victim to dog chewing sessions. The bathroom door was visibly patched, indicating someone might have punched it. The mattress was uncomfortably hard, and the towels felt as rough as wood, scratching the skin as you use them. A persistent, unpleasant odor lingered in the motel, and stains marred the hallway rug. Cockroaches were a ubiquitous presence, and the pillows were disappointingly flat with an extremely thin blanket. There were no additional pillows or blankets available. Surprisingly, the only things that appeared clean were the kitchen sink and the fridge. Witnessing a business establishment in such a state is disheartening, and it's perplexing how the place can sustain itself with consistently negative reviews."

"The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, got a new security system, makes me feel safer. Theres always someone cleaning the lobby and the hallways or trash or something. It gives off a more homey feeling i i like it here. the girls who work the desk and the guys and housekeepers that help keep the place clean are polite and overall awesome. I know thus place had a bad rep before but don't listen to all the old reviews cuz everything's changed now due to the new general manager. I encourage you to find out for yourself and see that this ain't no fake review..It really is nice here"

"The front desk was nice for the most part, apparently no one knows how to say you’re welcome whenever I thanked them. That’s not a conditional problem of employment, moreso of the environment they were raised in. My main issue with this room was that they were roaches, in fact, the exterminator was coming in when we were checking out. We checked out one day early because of the roaches, and all types of crawling bugs that we saw around the room the whole day. The sheets were not clean, the box springs were filthy. We had to request more bedding and they were not brought to the room we had to come down to get the sheets. Usually not a problem for most people, but I am a paraplegic. The room had big hole in it and black mold lining the windows and grout of the tub. We stayed in room 209."
