"Consistently some of the most flavorful and well seasoned food in town. I never hesitate to recommend this spot to folks and always enjoy my experience. Even when it’s busy I’m happy to see them doing business - get a drink and some tapas and settle in! Tonight I had a caipirinha, coxinha tapas with Chimichurri (stuffed fritter) and then a square meal with the chicken thighs, which is my go-to. Better parking than downtown and the wood fired grill right next to the dining room adds some nice ambiance. Quality, family run spot with from scratch cooking - a big win for Blacksburg."

"If you want fresh food and not the half frozen pre-packaged stuff you get at the chain restaurants, this is the place to visit. It was my first experience with Brazilian food and I absolutely loved it. But it is not just about the food, everyone that works there was genuinely friendly and ready to answer all of my questions about the menu. Meat is cooked to order on the grill inside the restaurant and you can actually see it being prepared by the owner of the place. I do not know the names of the menu items I had but I know the appetizers I had came in threes in a basket with a choice of sauce. I liked them all, especially plantains and this one bite that he Gorgonzola in the middle of it. Salad was fresh in a homemade dressing, chicken was juicy and flavorful with a wonderful hint of open fire flame. I also had flan and churros which are all made there and taste delicious. I’m f you like coffee go for iced cinnamon coffee which will tickle your taste buds and be the perfect ending to your meal. Oh, and if you are legal to drink, don’t miss out on the cosmopolitan! Absolutely delightful with addition of Cointreau, maple syrup and slice of an orange. I would get it again and again. Been there twice and will be coming back again next time I am in Blacksburg."

"Blacksburg’s greatest hidden gem has so much to offer. The menu brings a taste of Brazil to the NRV. An unsuspecting staple in the roster of Blacksburg restaurants, Gaucho breeds a wonderful experience through amazing food, service, and atmosphere. My favorite dish is the Estrogonofe, which contains creamy beef stroganoff, the most delicious, salty rice I’ve ever tried, and super satisfying potato crisps. You will not regret visiting!!"

"We had a nice dinner. Food was good and tasty, not great. We ordered drinks and tried a few apps. Apps came right away and drinks took a while. We also got the wrong appetizers, on top what we ordered. The restaurant was nice to say the wrong one was on the house. But it was a lot of food to start with. Service was just a tad off. However is not a reflection of food. Dinner portions are substantial. Save your appetite. Waiters don't fully explain the menu , which is not easy to follow . Inspite of all this, we still enjoyed our meal. Recommend a visit here."

"Wow, wow, wow!!!!! Heavenly. Even though I love trying many different styles of food, I am pretty particular about what is good and what is not. This place was PHENOMENAL! Background: I came here with my wife for a romantic Friday dinner date. We had a reservation which was wise to do because the place was packed. Our reservation was honored and we were directly escorted to our table. First of all, the atmosphere was lovely. Very cute with its cabin-y vibe, plants and wall art. Suitable for couples, families and friends gatherings. Secondly, the staff were super friendly and eager to serve. We literally had no moment when we needed anything and it wasn’t attended to at once. For a split second we were starting to wonder where the bathrooms were and one of the servers noticed our focused faces as he was passing by. He stopped, asked how he could help and answered us with a smile on his face. They were that good. We also got to chat with the owners at the end of our visit -who were cooking and operating the restaurant the whole time- and they are lovely people. Thirdly and most importantly, the food was exceptionally good. We ordered the Tapas Tour appetizer, tour for 2 with ribeye steak main dish and a bottle of the house’s red Cabernet Sauvignon wine. I cannot express enough how good everything was. The appetizer was just the right balance of size, good flavors and texture to get you wanting more food. And boooy you want to get hungry for that main course. This was easily, again easily, the best set of steaks I have ever had. Ever. The sirloin and ribeye were cooked EXACTLY to the requested doneness, juicy as could be and full of that grill-smoked flavor with the right amount of salt and pepper. The chicken thighs were so tender and full of that smoky flavored goodness. The pork chop -which is usually very dry- was equally as excellent. Additionally, the sides, which are not usually given much attention at restaurants, were excellent. The rice was so good it could be eaten on its own, the beans were delicious and the house salad was the perfect freshness needed to complete the dish, with a great house-made vinaigrette. The portions were generous and enough for two hungry people. We were stuffed by the end of it all. Minor consideration: we had to wait a little while until the main dish was ready, which is very reasonable due to how busy they were and the amount of food we had ordered."
