"The previous administrators were okay but I had an issue with the principal pulling my son out of school at the drop of a hat. In addition, there was little communication between them and the parents about school events and closings. I seriously considered changing schools. However, I've seen a major improvement with Miss Kristina and Miss Shinique's interventions. They have monthly calendars and send out reminders with school closings and events. They had a parent-teacher night and include parents in events like mystery readers and gingerbread house decorating. I really like their improvements and I think the staff is happier too. I can't imagine changing schools. My son is so happy and his skills are progressing beyond my expectations. I love the school curriculum and the staff! Great job!!"

"We recently moved from out-of-state and had no idea how difficult it would be to find childcare in the Richmond area for our, now, 14-month-old. Kristina made it her mission to find a space for us, and we're so happy she did. Our son started in the Infant 1 classroom and recently graduated to Infant 2. His teachers, Ms. Keira and Ms. Kelci, take personal interest in his development, evident by the smiles and hugs he gives them every morning. We've also been very pleased with the curriculum at Chesterbrook, teaching core concepts like sign language, how to brush your teeth, walking and more. In addition, they plan great theme weeks like "apples" in the fall where students learn about apples, in their many forms. Could not recommend Chesterbrook more."

"I have two kids here, ages 3 and 1. My 1 year old is also special needs. We recently left a different daycare to come here, and the change has been the best thing I think I could have done for either of my children! Finally, a place where my 3 year old is encouraged to learn how to do things independently and my 1 year old gets all of the accommodations she needs (and not grudgingly). My son comes home now and tells me about their science experiments they did and not just about who pushed who on the playground. I came to this daycare because of Kristi, the director who started there this year. I've never met anyone in a daycare/preschool facility who cares about the children and their well-being quite as much as she does. She will fight and advocate for your children just as hard as you will! My 1 year old sees multiple early intervention therapists, and all have said this was the change she needed to progress in her development, because she is being challenged in new and exciting ways here that she wasn't getting before. I've already seen improvements in the short time we've been there! Bring your kids here. You won't regret it!"

"The teachers our son had at Chesterbrook were great. The other positive reviews on Google are from before transitions in the administrative staff in 2023. Brief summary: The current Director, Kristina, is bad at her job. The school continued to auto-bill us for an entire month after our son left the school. At one point, we were billed incorrectly for a vacation week and a summer enrichment fee. We also had a check under-credited by ~$250! We left the school in June, and only received complete reimbursement in October. The Director was quick to blame the outsourced financial department for all of these problems, but also gate kept all communications - would not give us contact info for anybody above her who could solve this. She took little initiative in trying to fix this problem, did not carefully read our communications - it took months to finally get her to submit a reimbursement request for the correct and full amount. Several of our emails received no response, promises to call us back went unfulfilled. It took intervention from the Regional Director for Spring Education Group to finally sort out the mess she created by not correctly logging our end date, vacation dates, and check amount."

"Our daughter has been going to Chesterbrook Academy since she was 6 months old. Throughout this time, she has thrived; the teachers are warm and nurturing. Our teachers currently are Ms. Michelle and Ms. Tiarra--both are amazing! Our daughter loves going to school and enjoys sharing all learning activities that her teachers plan for her. We are confident that her growth and learning is much attributed to the care and curriculum at Chesterbrook."
