"I absolutely adore this Starbucks, my husband and I are regulars. We go several times a week, to get our drinks, honestly these barista’s need raises! Like Nic, Mac, etc. they know exactly what we want, and even surprise us, with a little extra drink love! Thanks you Starbucks!!!"

"Honestly.. anything in this plaza sucks. The McDonald’s the KFC, and definitely the Starbucks. Always wrong orders, always cold gross food and now also gross coffee. Placed an online order went to get it, Brought it home, Tasted it, and it was awful - very milky very burnt tasting. So I drove all the way back there, and they were nice to remake them for me .. seemingly using the same cup as what it look like Cause it had the same sticker on it… Brought it back home and they both still sucked very milky and leaves an awful burnt aftertaste. I think they need to refresh on how to make a proper caramel macchiato or they can let me do it so atleast I get my moneys worth. Starbucks isn’t cheap, so when I decide to “splurge” once in awhile, I expect it to be what it’s supposed to be. . For anyone looking for decent coffee, I suggest seven brew next-door and the workers are always very nice. The JClyde Starbucks is also superior to this one. Actually, I think gas station coffee is probably superior to this coffee."

"Sat in the drivethru for over ten minutes with no way to back up. Ask for a fresh drink but did I get one??? Nope. I’m going to be saving a lot of money now by making my own. Ridiculous. And the top was not on"

"I placed an online order for in store pick up. The estimated time that the drink would be ready said 6:13 pm. And it was one tall iced drink. I’ve placed the same order before at this location multiple times and usually the drink is ready around the time, however this time and one time before I go in wait for the order and it’s not ready for another 20 min after the 6:13 time. This only happens when certain employees are working at this location. I’m never rude but I do ask if my drink will be ready soon. They are extremely rude and say with an attitude “it’ll be ready when it’s ready” wow okay and while all this is happening they are making peoples drinks that where in store ordering after I placed that in store pick up order. And no other Starbucks has treated me this way except this location."

"This is my favorite Starbucks in Newport News. The interior is spacious and always clean. The staff is always nice and welcoming. My only complaint is that the focus is almost exclusively on the drive through element (in store design and focus of service). I dare say when you come into the cafe, it feels like you're bothering the baristas or distracting them from heavier work. Another issue (and this is less about this location and more about Starbucks in general): Starbucks cafes in 00s used to be more legitimately "coffeehouses," i.e. they provided "cafe" experiences. You could go in to a Starbucks to read or do work and get to know the baristas, get really good and strong brewed coffee in a variety of blends, and feel a sense of loyalty to "your" Starbucks. Alas, I think that era has passed (it seems). Now Starbucks are mostly in-and-out, alienated places, where overflow stock is stacked on the unused tables that used to be occupied by people conversing, reading, and just being together. This location is better than other locations I've been to in the area, but the problem I've described is endemic to the chain. (This is still my favorite Starbucks in the area)."
