"Phenomenonal brewery! Plenty of space and outdoor seating, room for kids to play soccer or run around, a giant fire pit and a live band! Not to mention a delicious restaurant right on the campus! All and all very impressed with this brewery, it seemed very well run and is nestled right in the mountains for a beautiful view. Highly recommend!"

"So sad to see such a low rating for this place. I’ve been a huge Devils Backbone fan for many years. Vienna Lager is one of my favorite beers. My girlfriend and I were so excited to finally go visit here. The environment and atmosphere are unmatched. Right smack in the middle of the blue ridge mountains. Gorgeous views. Great outdoor community focused atmosphere. Plenty of well placed and well designed gathering areas. Outdoor pub, cigar and spirits bar, outdoor grill house, animal and kid friendly. This place was designed for gathering with friends and making memories over a pint. We didn’t eat any food, but we did have beer. We got a flight with 4 different beers. I wasn’t blown away by any of them, but one (Smokehaus Bock) was very good with strong bacon notes. We also tried the slushies (I had the pumpkin one which was very good)! I can’t say service was bad or good. It seems that it was more focused toward efficiency then good customer service. Overall I would definitely go back! For me there’s nothing better than having beer in the mountains!"

"Very nice atmosphere, with an outdoor stage and plenty of room. We tried to eat in the restaurant, but we had a large group and the wait was very long. Instead we ate at the outdoor grill! There were options for kids for $8 and adults for around $16, with a separate outdoor bar."

"Overall, good visit. I would highly recommend, weather permitting, to reserve a fire pit online in advance! All but two are tucked in among evergreens, fairly private, and can accommodate eight people. Outside there are lots of standing tables, picnic tables, and a covered pavilion with tent sides for cooler or inclement weather. The main restaurant was busy, you order via QR code at the table and pay that way also, but the servers were good at checking in and making sure all was going well. Food and beverages came out in lightning speed. The food almost came out too quick, the hot chicken sandwich felt like it might have already been made and under warmers. Some of the prices were ridiculous! Getting an app made no sense - $14 for nachos without meat (add meat for a total of $21) $12 for a pub pretzel (want queso for dipping? That will be another $4). Hot cider was $6 (no booze)! Adding a shot was $4. Entrée prices seemed reasonable and more in line with what you might expect from a restaurant. Overall, it was walking distance from our accommodations and a fun visit, but not someplace that we would go back to."
