"Delicious Club sandwich! Their iced tea is brewed perfectly. Love sitting outside listening to the babbling brook while eating. So many wonderful gifts in the store. The staff is kind and attentive. Beautiful place!"

"First of all, I love the food here and enjoy the view while you eat. It’s beautiful. Unfortunately, the staff (mainly the lady who works the cafe register sometimes) is unwelcoming and discourteous. You get rushed even when no one is behind you. If you ask a question about a menu item, she points to a piece of paper on the counter or the wall menu instead of responding verbally. No smiles. No feelings of appreciation. I even watched her treat other customers the same way. With all the previous complaints in the other reviews, one would think this problem would be resolved, but it hasn’t. On a happier note, there was a young lady bringing food to the tables who was kind, smiling, and even laughing. You need more of her!"

"Great gifts and traditional lunch options (try the cucumber sandwich, tomato aspic, apple dapple cake, and more). They have a wedding registry including fine china and Herend, as well as gadgets for the kitchen, garden goodies, gourmet foods, and stationery. So much to see! A Lynchburg favorite."

"One of our very favorite lunch spots! Perfect to go as one of their affordable box lunches for a picnic or work break meal or a lovely place to eat in or outdoors. They are so flexible with your preferences and the food is delicious!! A huge menu to choose from to suit almost any type of diet. We have found the chicken salad with grapes and pecans so good we hardly can choose anything else. When they were out of their famous apple dapple cake we had to choose a cookie instead… a delightful option in multiple flavors…all yummy but the everything oatmeal chocolate chip and snickerdoodle are our favs. The bar top seating is very convenient and the complimentary iced lemon water is a nice touch. Served by friendly staff and mostly presented in eco friendly paper wrappers, it is surely the nicest lunch in Lynchburg as the full parking lot attests to! They offer quick order ahead pickup for those in a hurry."

"The restaurant in the back of the clean and richly-varied storefront almost exclusively serves sandwiches. This is a pretty solid business plan, as their sandwiches are delicious. I had a turkey and brie sandwich on darkened multigrain with (apricot? not sure) jam and lettuce/spinach greens to make it nice and light. It was surprisingly comprehensive in its taste profile. The jam complemented the mellow brie in conjunction with a good meat-to-cheese ratio to finish out a nice little gem of a sandwich. Only downside is that none of the sandwiches include a side or drink, and their "meal" deal, the "boxed lunch," just gives you chips and a very, very small dessert (it took me 4 bites to finish my lemon point cake slice) with NO drink for $4 more. I got a normal bottled ginger ale for a not-so-great price of $3 bringing a single sandwich "meal" here to $14 before tax. Not the worst prices I've ever seen, but not the best deals, either."
