"This spot has a great atmosphere. Perfect for reading and having conversation. Pastries are good The one con for me: the coffee syrups are quite sweet--noticeable sweeter than other shops. Almost dessert-like. I'll for sure be back for the atmosphere and pastries. But I'll likely pass on the coffee"

"Hot latte with beignets anyone? After visiting my brother this early morning, I once again was on a quest to find a new "local" café/restaurant to support. Today my gem was PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans in Bowie, MD. What a pleasant surprise to see what was behind the cookie-cutter brick and mortar building. As I walked inside, I was greeted with rhymical-music softly playing, cozy N.O. décor, and a warm friendly-smile greeting by Tiara. Customer service is important to me and this place did not disappoint. Being new, Tiara took the time to address my questions and shared about their coffee and recommendations for they have a variety of drink creations. And just when I thought I was done ordering, she asked if I would like to try their beignets. Uh, yea. My takeout order of drinks and beignets were hand delivered to me, so nice not to have my name or number called out. The hot latte with almond milk was delicious and the beignets were light and reminded me of my visit to New Orleans a few years back. I love their branding! Their cups are sturdy and environmentally conscious. Another place that will no longer be a new to me because I will be back again."

"A nearby resident wants to try something other than Panera and Starbucks for remote work. A Google search brought this back, though I've seen it when it was the other store - sweet frog or whatever. Like most new businesses, there are quirks to work out with a new manager, staff, and people and their expectations. For starters, it was warm, unlike the other 2 places that are freezing (SB). The music is great to work, read, write, gather with friends, people watch, or just get out for a bit. It's definitely a local spot, and I heard the staff greet regulars by name - very cool! There are plenty of tables to log in and work. The chairs are not skinny-booty friendly, so you'll have to stand up when the cheeks get sore. Nothing to where it's a deterrent - all love and respect. Since I was undecided between the hot coffees, I tried 2 - Dark Roast and the flavor (praline). Both were delicious, and the price point for it and a pastry was great. The cherry turnover I ordered was good af... It weighed like a half-pound, so I knew it was going to be good. The staff was friendly and professional, and the overall vibe was pleasant. An establishment with all kinds of people and shades (mostly black & brown) and everyone seemed polite. The pix of the Prince George's County police were part of "coffee and cops" and community engagement. Shout out to Chief Malik Aziz for coming up to me and say hello while inquiring about my (remote) workstation set-up. I got a lesson in the ranking structure, laughed about a few things when it comes to police run-ins (speeding) but it was nice to meet him and his officers. I'll be back!"

"My wife and I normally like visiting PJ's, especially ever since we first visited while in New Orleans. The coffee and service have always been great. However, this location in Bowie was not as good today. The employees just acted like they were either not happy or just having a bad day. The bathroom was not very clean. My wife's hazelnut latte was a little bitter and normally most places will add just a touch more to sweeten it, this location will charge you extra for it. Thankfully my Chai Latte did taste great, though."
