"i was just trying to get alcohol without getting asked "where are you from"...and when i said i was born and raised here, the cashier said "no way." when i insisted i was indeed from here, he said "ok where are your parents from bc it's def not america." i have no idea what would lead him to ask such unprofessional questions when i was simply trying to check out, not making a fuss. the only reason i could think of is the fact that i'm not white. i wonder if he asks the same persistent questions to every person of color that shops here."

"Probably the worst liquor store I've ever been in. Asked about a handle of alcohol... was shown terrible bottom shelf and told thats all they had. Then I saw a 1.75L bottle of Jameson and took that to the register to check out. Was treated terribly and would never recommend going back. Over priced plus terribly rude employees. Absolutely disgusting experience."

"This establishment does not comply with basic COVID-19 safety guidelines. When I approached the register, the store manager did not have his mask on (though he had one right below his chin), so I asked him to please put his mask up. He grumbled and pulled the mask up a little bit, and when I asked him again to please do so he refused, said I was being ridiculous, and said that "he was fine." Well, a lot of the rest of us are concerned about our health, the health of those who live with us, and the health of those in our communities. I left without finishing my purchase because I was so incensed. The DC DoH should fine this establishment and shut it down."

"I just had a completely inappropriate interaction with the cashier at this store. First, he was unwilling to sell me anything unless I *handed* him my ID (during COVID). I told him that I was not comfortable with him touching it, and that I’d hold it in front of his face. He refused to accommodate this and told me to leave. Second, after much ado, he agreed to sell me the item. But after trying 2 different credit cards, 3 times each, and then Apple Pay, he continued to assert my cards — rather than his machine — weren’t working. Third, in the middle of this, he spent several minutes on the phone with a liquor vendor, making me and another customer wait. Fourth, I allowed the other customer to go ahead of me and try his card, which also didn’t work, proving that the store’s machine was down and that my cards were (obviously) not the issue. Fifth, he was difficult, unhelpful, and overtly rude throughout the interaction. I left without a purchase and will never go back. Respect yourself and avoid this place."

"Prides were a bit high as well as the clerk. The clerk struggled to ring up my purchase and had to refund it after he charged me for things that I didn't order then complained about having to do a refund, kept saying he was going to get yelled at. Interesting experience to say the least."
