Whole Foods Market

"I prefer this Whole Foods over several others close to me in NoVa - mostly for the “storefront” parking lot. It’s not overly navigable - and some days it’s too busy to even drive down the area streets, however, parking in the store lot is convenient, simple and free (up to 2hrs) - especially if you can commit to shopping very early or very late in the day. There is a deck and street parking as well. The shopping carts are rarely left free floating and you’re probably going to be able to secure one at the entrance. The choices of items are pretty expansive here (food, vitamins, wine, cheese, pre-cooked food) and I can usually find what I am searching for without being reminded that this is not a massive flagship store. I am picky about how I shop and prefer to have meats towards the bottom of the cart and then add cool items/ non refrigerated to the cart as I shop. Again… just me. This store is laid out well for me to do so and I don’t have to oddly maneuver around to get back to items. Self check out (SCO) can be missed if you’re not careful… (not a big deal… just circle back) I missed it my first couple of times being there as it is tucked in with the flow of the shopping and not with the flow of traffic looking to exit. Staff have always been friendly and helpful with finding items in aisles, helping at SCO and sharing food information. This location makes it simple to get in and out and on your way."

"The baked goods are usually stale, just received moldy strawberries in grocery delivery. Horribly crowded and returns from Amazon are inconvenient cluster upstairs - it’s a mess. It also feels grimey- the elevator upstairs and upstairs eating area has built up dirt, finger prints etc - yuck! Nothing feels elevated here, always a stressful experience!"

"We love Whole Foods and are almost daily shoppers because it is in the neighborhood. This critical review is regarding 2 pies that we purchased - a half blueberry pie and a whole pumpkin pie. Both pies were stale and could not be eaten. Both pies were thrown away. I went to the store yesterday to discuss this with customer service; they sent me to the bakery. I spoke with a manager there who kept repeating that the pies were on a special for the whole weekend. It was uncharacteristic of the service we are used to at Whole Foods. The matter was not resolved and there's the reality that we don't trust purchasing another pie from Whole Foods."

"I could pick vegetables for hours! It is a market where I can always find what I am looking for, containing dozens of organic varieties. There is no problem except that it is very crowded on the weekend."
