"We've been coming here for more than twenty years and tend to order a few favorites: chicken peshawari, baingan bharta, and saag chole are all outstanding. We remarked that the flavors were even better than we remembered. Sure, we go to Edison or Iselin for more variety from time to time, but don't sleep on the Star for an excellent meal!"

"One of the best if not THE best Indian restaurants I’ve ever visited. Loved the ambiance, the lighting was appealing, music was pleasant, food was amazing, reasonably priced and service was excellent. Being of Indian descent, I often times find myself feeling unwell after dining at an Indian restaurant because the food is not very authentic, but this is the first place where I ate more than I even should have and left feeling great. Highly recommend for first timers, or anyone that loves Indian food. My family and I tried several different dishes and they were all perfect. 5/5 stars - highly recommend. We had some left overs we planned to save for tomorrow and couldn’t help but finish them already - that should tell you all you need to know :)"

"We've been dining here the past couple of years periodically. The food is authentic and really delicious. I haven't had a thing I have not liked. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere makes you feel like your dining in India. It's very dark inside which adds to it. The best Indian food around the area, just stop in already, stop reading this. Go...go already!"

""How was Star of India?" Google asks. Let me tell you! This place is a diamond in the rough! And judging by the outside facade, you'd never expect to be transported. But that's exactly what happens when you walk inside. Dark, romantic colors and lighting. A lovely place to take a date! But you want to know about the FOOD, right!?! As someone who has had some seriously amazing Indian food in Delhi, Mumbai, and London (let's face it... London has some legendary Indian restaurants), I am positively thrilled to have found this place so close to my home in Jersey! I can't wait to bring more friends to try it! But my hubby and I plan to get dressed up for a romantic night out soon! Maybe this week! I was there last week and all I can think about is what I'm going to try from the menu next! Such wonderful variety and truly excellent flavor! It's a must-taste! Highly recommend. Would give it more stars if I could! Oh! And if you're not feeling like dining in, they offer takeout!!! YESSSSSSS"
