About the Business
Hammond Park Pool is a private, non-profit community swim club located at 8034 Helmart Drive in Laurel, Maryland. Situated in the Hammond Village neighborhood, the pool is conveniently close to Route 29 and Johns Hopkins Road in southern Howard County. With over 200,000 gallons of water, our family-oriented pool offers a variety of activities, including swim lessons, the Stingrays swim team, recreational swimming, and social events.
The main section of our pool features 6 lanes and is 25 meters in length, with one lane always available for lap swimmers. There is a shallow section ranging from 3 to 5 feet, perfect for younger kids, as well as a dedicated baby pool and playground. For more experienced swimmers, we have a deep water well that goes up to 12 feet, complete with a diving board and slide. Additionally, we offer Wi-Fi access for all members and have an ADA chair for easy pool entry.
Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Hammond Park Pool is a great destination for both children and adults to enjoy their summer days. "This is a privately owned and operated swimming pool. It is open to paid members and guests, not to the general public. Family memberships cost more than $800 per year, but there is such a long line of prospective members waiting to purchase one of the limited number of memberships that none are available this year. "An excellent free pool in the area! The water is clean and there's plenty of room to swim including a twelve foot zone with diving board and a mini waterside. The area is surrounded by trees and nature which makes it look very special nice and the snacks are very reasonably priced. Candy is one dollar and popcorn is two dollars."
"I’m giving it one star because I can’t give it to zero. Came here one time, I’ll never be back. All these young lifeguards are crazy with power, not to mention you can’t have any toys in the water to play with your kids or even have a camera to film your kids. We got in trouble for having our seven-year-old films himself go down the waterslide using the GoPro. They’re afraid that he’ll film something inappropriate. The managers are no help, and on a HUGE POWER trip. Worst experience ever"
