"During the checkout process, I was assigned sales associate Dylan. Noticing that the wool coat he was checking out was without a tag, I politely asked if I could exchange the item for one with a tag still intact. Instead of granting my request, Dylan pushed back and rebuffed that he'd rather keep the coat with a tag so it'd be easier for the store to ring up later. When I requested it again, he silently took the hanger from the tagged coat, coolly tossed it aside, and rang that item up instead. When the checkout process was complete, instead of walking the bag around the counter or simply handing it over to me, he shoved the bag across the checkout desk with a rough, "have a good day". The lack of professionalism and enthusiasm for a long-time loyal customer of Calvin Klein was astounding. Floor supervisor, Allyson, stood by and watched this encounter without a word. When I tried to make a complaint to her, she simply shrugged and mentioned that it wasn't a big deal. She did not attempt to rectify the issue in any way. I am extremely displeased with my experience and felt deeply unwelcome in this environment. Especially, as a black woman, I was made to feel like my purchase and presence in this store was not welcomed. The lack of customer service that I had received in comparison to other, non-black customers was mortifying--I had yet to have an experience like this during my entire shopping trip at any other store within this outlet. As much as I wish to continue purchasing from Calvin Klein, I wish even more to feel like a valued customer, to feel like I matter, and to feel as if I am being treated equally to every other guest regardless of skin color."
