He walked me through the issues, most of which I had already known but hadn't put together correctly, and led me to realize that the letter wasn't as bad as I'd thought. This was all during a free initial consultation which took only fifteen minutes or so, and he persuaded me that even if my relationship with the employer went badly, hiring him to recover damages wouldn't be worth the aggravation and expense.
