Banana Republic

"The District Manager needs to intervene in this store ASAP! There is a man who works in this store who is middle aged who followed my poor mother so closely around the store that she felt like he was going to assault her. My mother is nearly 60, a God fearing woman, and wouldn't hurt a fly. She had just finished a 10 hour shift, picked me up from Boston Logan, and brought us home to Maine and wanted to buy me something for my birthday. Instead, what we encountered was a domineering man who towered over my mother and instead of helping her, just watched her struggle to reach the garments on the rack. Eventually, I felt something was off and stopped shopping and started to watch the interaction, or the hyper-fixation, this man had on my mother to the point where she was on one side of the rack and this employee was on the other staring at her. Now, Banana Republic may be a nice store in Maine, but we have shopped at far nicer brands than BR. Our expectations weren't high, but what we didn't expect was the borderline stalking this employee would begin when we walked in the door."

"I ordered a coat online and found the size is too big for me, so I stopped this store in Maine Mall to try to change the item. There were two cashier ladies free, but they neglected me for about 5 mins. It was awkward and embarrassing because they realized I stood in front of them and need help. They glanced me for a few times, but did not provide any service until I almost lost my patience. The attitude was so arrogant and careless! As a customer for years, I had never experienced such horrible service. Won’t go this store again!"

"Took my moms sweater from her hands after she got out the changing room and lost it. she was very excited about the purchase but the staff is snotty and careless. chic clothing but terrible and clumsy staff."

"I unfortunately ordered the wrong size shirts for my partner at Christmas, and had been lagging on taking them back for exchange. Got to the store and the staff could not have been more gracious and helpful. I had bought the shirts online, so there was a lot more"processing" to be done than a straight exchange. I was also a few days past the exchange window and the manager was kind enough to let me do an even exchange anyway - THAT is great customer service (and why I love BR). They had one of the shirts in stock, and the other 2 they reordered for me. The funny thing is that because of all the details involved, I was taking up a lot of their time, which I know could have been spent with others- but they kept apologizing to me for how long it took!! I was the one that needed to apologize to them! Oh, I was also wearing the BR blanket scarf and 1 of the women helping me was so complimentary of it- meant a lot. The staff at the Maine Mall store are EXCEPTIONAL. I've worked in retail almost all my life, so it takes a lot to impress me - and they blew it out of the park. Just a great group, and a great experience. I wish I had all of their names- but the gang working Saturday January 22nd- THANK YOU!!"

"Here it is 11 AM the store is full of employees but they don’t open until noon which is posted nowhere. You wonder why your business is going down the tubes.. Here is a thought.. maybe open the doors for your customers to shop."
