"The store is great for selection on clothes, housewares, bedding and socks. The website is probably the worst and most out-dated when compared to most other stores. Vague descriptions, terrible pictures. The biggest problem with every Boscov's I've ever visited is the Shoe Department. There's a huge selection, but for most items, you have to ask a clerk to check if they have your size. The clerks, for years, are consistently unhelpful, especially in the Colonie store. Last visit in the middle of a weekday, there were 3 clerks behind the counter. None were greeting customers, and when I asked for my size in some shoes, my request was not well received. I asked for a wide. I was brought a size larger and told there were no wide in that size. I nicely conveyed that going up a shoe size is not the same as needing a wide size. I got a cold stare down and a shrug. It never ceases to amaze me that Boscov's has all those shoes, but doesn't seem to want to sell any. The only option is to go to clearance and take what you can get. Please do better with Shoes. I would love to buy there, but I'm not even going to try anymore."
"I shop here for Mom every Christmas and can usually find a couple good gifts in short order. Great location and parking too. I'm also often surprised by how low the prices are. Recommended!"
"Not a bad place to shop. Prices are reasonable. Two complaints though. Escalators are typically broken and it's tough to find an open register. Found one register upstairs that was open with a huge line of shoppers."
"Boscov's is a gem! The merchandise is reasonable quality and I find lots of what I want there. Often, its on sale:) :)!!!!! However, the best part about this store (I go to the Colonie Center location), is the EMPLOYEES. 90 percent of them are great! True, I've met a few that really don't belong in Customer Service. My advice is: if you get them, just move to another register because the good folks (90percent) are helpful, knowledgeable, friendly company folks. Great job hiring Boscov's!"
"Needs a little TLC but the price is great on most items and sizes were not an issue. Staff was thin but not unreasonable. Difficult at times to find an associate or Point of Sale open but once you did they were and friendly."
