"This was the final restaurant of our trip to Maine, and it really made an impression. The service was top notch, and we had the option of indoor or outdoor seating. The atmosphere was wonderful. Almost a mix of classic and modern, great date night spot. The food blew me away. We split the marinated mushrooms, fried eggplant, and the rigatoni carbonara. The mushrooms were fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. They retained the correct texture and weren't soggy at all. The fried eggplant was great and was really brought together by the fresh cheese and balsamic drizzle. The carbonara was the crown jewel of the night. The seemingly homemade al dente rigatoni had great flavor and texture, and the guanciale was amazing. Interesting to see guanciale used in a restaurant over pancetta, but it was really good. I'll be back here for sure on my next trip to Portland."

"The cauliflower dip was a hit at our table, and the server kindly brought us extra bread. The duck raviolo had a complex and satisfying blend of flavors, and while it wasn’t the most filling choice for the price, the richness in flavors (and aforementioned extra bread) made up for it"

"This was our first visit and it did NOT disappoint! The food was soooo... delicious! We sat at the bar, which accommodates up to 15 people and provides a fun view of the pizza prep. My motivation to come here came from the #platesofportlandmaine Instagram account where they featured the Rigatoni Carbonara dish. We started off with some perfectly crafted negronis and went right to entrees. I had the super delish Rigatonie and my wife went with the Campanelle pasta, a delicious flavor bomb for the palette! We finished off with an awesome tiramisu and cappuccino. Couldn't recommend highly enough! We'll be back!"

"A very unique top tier restaurant located off the grid in the “Hood”. If your touring it’s worth a detour off the main food path. The cocktails are excellent. I had the flatbread which was anything but flat heaping with fresh heirloom tomatoes and fresh cheese…Eating the broccolini was more like having desert. Their Italian selections won’t disappoint! Each portion is artfully plated. It’s evident they really care what and how they serve you! Bon-appetite!"

"Tipo is a neighborhood Italian restaurant in Portland, Maine. It is located in the Back Cove neighborhood, just a short walk from the waterfront. The restaurant has a bright and airy interior, with a large open kitchen and plenty of natural light. The menu features a variety of Italian dishes, including wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas, and seasonal entrees. The food at Tipo is excellent. The pizzas are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and cooked to perfection in the wood-fired oven. The pastas are also made fresh daily, and the sauces are flavorful and well-balanced. The entrees are hearty and satisfying, and the desserts are delicious. The service at Tipo is friendly and attentive. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and can make recommendations based on your preferences."
