"Unfortunately the customer service at this hotel was abominable. My partner developed food poisoning from a local restaurant during the night. Upon contacting front desk were offered an 11.30am checkout (original time 11am), which we were grateful for, but at 11.30am my partner was still actively vomiting. At this point we had the cleaning staff knocking on our door and front desk reprimanding us with 'maximum 10 more minutes'. I asked: did they want her to throw up down the hallway and onto the street? She literally could not walk. Not once did anyone ask if my partner was okay or offer us anything (water, directions to a pharmacy..), until eventually we asked to speak to a manager, who offered us maximum 12.30pm checkout. We left at 11.50am, and had to go to a local cafe so my partner could find a bathroom, where she collapsed for an hour. We understand this is a small business and someone else was due to stay in our room, but there simply must be provisions for people that become unwell. There were several other rooms available online for that evening - could they not have offered those to us or the incoming guests? We offered to pay for an extra night... What an awful experience. Plenty of locally-owned hotels in the area - recommend giving your money to a place with a little more heart."

"Very comfortable rooms with upscale furniture. Unfortunately, we could not stop noisy fans during the night."

"The rooms like nice. They however are all on top of each other and the noise carries badly. We had someone with a dog above us and then a family that were quite loud in the building too so it was not easy to sleep. The ‘management’ were only worries about making sure they had payment and card on file but refused to address issues ."

"Big beautiful room in a nice old house. The location is perfect. 5 minutes from the amtrak station and right downtown close to all the stops. Be sure to bring a sweater if going during fall as the fire place is only on in colder months."
