"This was my second visit to the Virginia location. The first visit was somewhat confusing with many pet owners coming n going. But a definite good sign of a busy groomer. First of all, I have a ‘Himalayan’ cat and wanted a ‘lion’ cut for her during summer months for her comfort in being cooler. When I picked her up she was so cute. A job well done and I was extremely pleased with the cut that Kathy did. Fast forward to today when I had appointment for a trim on the lion cut. Upon arrival to drop off the shop was empty but there had been done work dine and the chemical smell was so strong I could hardly breathe. When I returned to pick my cat up there were approximately six doggies all barking which is understandable. There were three persons in side grooming area and mass confusion. After waiting for ten minutes and my car was in her carrier just set in the floor next to a barking dog in the reception area. No one said anything to me , I saw Kathy who groomed my cat the first visit so I told her who I was n gave her the money owed. Nothing was said about my cat being difficult NOTHING WAS SAUD WHATSOEVER. I took the carrier and left. When I got home and took my kitty out of the carrier I was shocked. She was butchered. One side of her was so much shorter than the other. Her legs were not manicured at all her coat was choppy plus she was never brushed and clumps if hair was still hanging on her. Surely this couldn’t be the result of the same groomer that did such as awesome cut the first time. I waited to let my emotions settle for a couple of hours. Then decided to call n leave a request on their answering machine to have Kathy return my call the following day. It so happened that someone answered the phone (it was 8:45PM) & it was Kathy. I explained why I was calling n apologized for the late csll n asked her to give me a call tomorrow. She insisted on helping and when told she was defensive stating my cat was hard to work with this time and not calm Like the first time. & it took two people to do her. I asked why someone did not explain this when I picked her up? She offered to correct the cut but I declined remembering all the confusion n barking at the grooming facility. I appreciate the offer she made but to correct the blunders of the cut would require slmost shaving the cat bald. Plus the noise of barking n not being kept in a waiting area away from all the close loud commotion- I did not want to put my kitty through thst again. Summary of my visit. I believe Kathy is an excellent groomer, especially for doggies. However when grooming kitties - f think since the location is so small without staging area away from barking doggies and they do not have specific days for kitty only grooming to avoid the animal being scared to death in an environment alien to them with scarey dogs barking not even six inches away from them, I would not recommend this facility for cat grooming. Lastly, there is no way the same groomer did my cat this time that did the cut the first visit. For the cost of a cat to be groomed which is much more expensive than a dog - $85.00 for a shampoo and cut, I feel at least a conversation explaining why the cut was so shabby was warranted - without me making a after the fact phone call to express my dissatisfaction with the experience. I am a animal lover - cats, dogs - every kind but snakes, so I am not complaining about barking doggies. Kathy did offer to correct the problem but I opted not to put my pet through that experience again. I’ll be looking for a groomer that does more kitties and perhaps has an exclusive day to groom only kitties. ."
