"My 93 yr old mother was sent to the ER Albany Med via her primary care due to breathing problems identified by VNS Visiting nurses. It has been nothing but a nightmare for this poor woman. By all means feel free to contact me if you're considering this ER and then don't do it. I've spent over 11 hrs on hold in the past 28 hrs that she's been there trying to get an update on her status. The ER dr. discharged her last night at 9:30 pm and she's still in a bed in the hallway. Response was to file a complaint with the hospital. What the heck?!!"

"Albany Med Center is a private healthcare facility in Capital Region. AMC Security Guards acting like cops. Under New York State Security Guard Act " protection of persons and/or property from harm, theft, and/or unlawful activity; deterrence, observation, detection, and/or reporting unlawful or unauthorized activity; street patrol service; response to, but not installation or service of, a security system alarm". But they always harassing to people during the pickup and drop off time. If any patient or person is taking a little longer time for coming to the vehicle and the driver has stopped vehicle on a safe area for passenger, the security guards start harassaring and threatening to the driver for moving the vehicle. "A driver can stop the vehicle for dropping of and can wait for pickup passenger for the safety according to the weather condition as well. Even the driver is not making any disturbance on any traffic in front of the hospital area." I have never seen like this in any other hospitals, but only in Albany Med. If the driver is near to door area of ER, but he knows very well, that he is not blocking any pedistrians walkway or even any emergency vehicle driveway, it does not make any sence that a security guard starts harassing and threatening to driver to move the vehicle. The drivers are not staying there for whole day or night, only for few minutes. Usually it can take about 5 to 10 mins for passenger, as the hospital has huge building. I do respest for the safety rules and protocol for everyone. But this is not acceptable from Valet Parking and security staff. Valet Parking is also a contacted company. They also should never ask for vehicle parking untill a driver shows desire for Valet Parking. They have to be respectfull with everyone professionally."

"The doctors, nursing and pharmacy staff are amazing . I wouldn't go to any other hospital or pharmacy I was rushed there by my husband I had a skull crushing migraine and stroke like symptoms They trialed me immediately. I had 2 Nuerologist they did a series of nuerological tests including mri, CT scan, migraine cocktail. The staff was amazing When the nurse brought me a tray, she also brought one for my husband..they ate amazing. The nuerological staff checked on me every hour.. they kept my husband and myself informed of everything.. the staff is through. They literally saved my life My husband and myself are very grateful for the nursing and doctors staff. Due to my stroke, I did have some short term memory loss which is not unusual for me due to my health issues. Will definitely be returning to amc"

"Having spending the 4th day here with my partner. A few comments. The hospital is filthy no one has been in to clean the room, the garbage does get emptied daily but that is it. On the floor next to the other patients bed the same blood has been there for the 4 days that we have been here. Nurses miss the garbage can & if it goes on the floor it's never to be picked. There are all kinds of plastic cap tops on the floor, I count at least four that are right there visible, definitely a slipping hazard for patients. I realize "there are staffing shortages" but that is not an excuse for the lack of attention to cleanliness. We have had many really good staff members that are attentive, professional and wonderful but not all. I feel great empathy for the staff that are truly dedicated and trying their best. The hospital should be ashamed of themselves. I am sure this will go nowhere but needed to comment. A retired nurse after a 50 year career."
