"Not sure what ails the Tarrytown store. There are vast aisles of soda, cereal, candy and chips, but I've gone to find no bread flour, no de cecco pasta, no canned white beans, no fresh chives, and once, no chicken thighs. Give them credit for stocking IPA Indian ale and decent baguettes, but, really? I take my dog to Rockland for walks so discovered that the Orangetown Stop N Shop is radically nicer and better stocked and that Aldi's, the German budget chain in Nanuet, has great chicken and fresher produce at half S n S prices as well as, like SnS, very pleasant and efficient cashiers."

"Went here for ground beef and a soap one night and the one of the cashiers legit run after me while walking to my car and told me I didn’t pay for my items I had my receipt in my hand and everything and all he could of said was ohhh no apology are anything. The food expires so fast you must use it at least same day or the next day. Some of the cashiers are nice some or not so nice"

"Lately meat and poultry rarely makes it to the expiration date. Other stores are fine. I just opened some chicken wings on 9/18/23 and the chicken wings were set to expire 9/24/23. They stunk up my kitchen when I opened them so I tossed them in the trash. And I wonder why the expiration dates on meat an poultry are so tiny and impossible to read lately as well. They clearly don't want the consumer to read this information. I see the owner is responding to the post here, so I will say usually everything is fine. It just seems like this has been happening a fair bit in the past 6-months. Perhaps it has something to do with supply chains lately. But I just don’t get why the expiration dates are now so tiny. I literally and I mean that in the literal sense need to use the magnifier app on my cell phone to read them. The unreadable text makes me think the store is trying to deceive or mislead me in someway. See the picture below. Boosted the rating from 2 to 3 stars because you responded which I greatly appreciate!!"

"The staff are plenty kind, inventory is always good, and parking is easy cheesy. Overall, a great market. Location is convenient too. The self checkout is another matter entirely. I had to once listen to Raymond Holt explain to me cell division and that was more enjoyable than the self checkout process. First of all, the self checkout machine unnecessarily reads out each item along with its price at a volume that would allow those in Canada to hear. Thanks machine, I know exactly the items I have in hand. To add insult to injury, the scanner is completely disabled during this Spartan recounting of your purchases which is wildly frustrating as you stand helplessly waiting to scan your next item. Then, Bruce Almighty forbid your item weighs 3 micrograms from the weight in the system. Then you are at the mercy of waiting for assistance from a staff member. That staff member is doing their darn best but 1 person has to help like 9 self-checkout stations which is like trying to plug the Titanic’s iceberg hole with Flex Tape. Oh you’d like to skip this self checkout house of mirrors that’s akin to the nightmare of standardized testing? Forget it, as there are ~15 checkout lanes with maybe 2 staffed at most."
