"I would have absolutely loved the Tea time and friends there, everything seemed awesome until shortly after being seated near the back wall, I and 2 others at our table kept getting whiffs of stove top gas. When mentioned, various wait staff explained different reasons. Never tried to move us. I was new to the group of 7 so didn't feel comfortable asking to move. I also was closest to the vent/or window ( both were blamed) The most common excuse, outdoor auto fumes. It came and went regularly but eventually, I had to sit several seats away, next to the actual table where it was less intense. Very disappointing of what otherwise would have been nearly perfect fun for our group. The tea and crumpets and sandwiches were scrumptious, just don't get seated back there."
"The hotel is beautiful. I like the way this hotel was built. At least in the room that I stayed in was great. Just the wall decorations were kind of old. Every certain hours you can hear the train passing through."
"We came here for brunch with Santa. The buffet main meal offerings were delicious. The servers were not refilling drinks or coffee much unless we asked and I wish there was more order to telling tables to go up and get food. It was crazy lines and people cutting. Maybe because it was late seating at 1:30 people were hungry. Santa could be a little more authentic."
"The room was not outstanding, but very nice. It’s pretty tough to turn such an old building into a five-star place. The windows were really drafty. The bathroom lighting was apparently designed by someone who had never met a woman, because trying to apply makeup with such poor light is a challenge not to be overcome by the faint of heart. What this place does have in spades is wonderful people. From the doorman to the reception staff, bartender, and cleaners, everyone was friendly, helpful, and caring. I’d stay here again just because of them."
"Large group in the mood for a good meal and the Thayer delivered. Most of us ate off the menu and enjoyed the short rib and the pork chop. Don’t miss the fancy tater tots. Andrea did a great job handling the large group and we had very good service."
