Welcome to Kaharoa Kennels, a renowned establishment located at Hamurana, Tauranga Direct Road, 137. Established in 1987, Kaharoa Kennels has stood the test of time, remaining a tranquil haven for pets amidst the bustling development of the surrounding area.

Please note that our phone line is currently experiencing technical difficulties, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We are working diligently to resolve this issue. For the safety and comfort of all our furry guests, we have a few policies in place. All boarding dogs must be dropped off at least 20 minutes prior to their scheduled boarding time. Our operating hours for drop-offs and pick-ups are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 10 am and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Please note that we are closed on the 24th, 25th, and 26th of December, as well as the 30th, 31st of December, and the 1st and 2nd of January. Additionally, we are closed on Easter Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Due to an overwhelming number of dog bookings and new dogs for kennels, daystay, and grooming, we appreciate your patience as we respond to your inquiries. To prioritize the well-being of our furry guests, we have temporarily turned off the answerphone. We will get back to you as soon as possible, so please reach out to us via email or Facebook message.

Please note that we are not currently accepting new dogs until after the summer period. However, we do have limited spots available for Toy and Small breeds. Additionally, we require all new dogs to participate in a daystay prior to their overnight stay. This daystay allows them to familiarize themselves with our staff, routine, and kennel environment, ensuring a happy and comfortable experience for them. Kennels can be overwhelming for dogs who are not used to them, and it may not suit all dogs. We recommend trying out all our kennel options to find the one that best suits your dog's needs.

What sets us apart from other kennels in the region is our unique approach to exercise. We believe in providing a highly social and stimulating environment for our guests by allowing them to exercise in a large pack under full supervision. Dogs are given two hours of exercise per day, but please let us know if this is too much for your dog.

Here, your furry friend can enjoy the freedom of running and playing with their mates, both old and new. Our aim is to ensure that your pet is happy, exercised, and content during their stay.

To maintain the safety of all dogs in our care, we require up-to-date vaccination books to be provided at or before drop-off. Please ensure that your pet's vaccinations are current.

As a family-owned and operated business, we take pride in providing excellent care for your pets. Kelly, our dedicated office manager, ensures smooth operations, while Nathan takes the time to walk your dogs twice a day.

Our facility consists of both single and double or family kennels, each equipped with indoor rooms and outdoor runs. Additionally, we have a communal cattery where your feline companion can enjoy a garden setting and observe the teasing native birds.
