We are dedicated to upholding the traditional method of woodworking, rather than relying on cabinet making techniques. Our builds do not involve chipboard, melamine, or veneer premade cabinets. Instead, we use 100% Australian hardwood carcasses and install world-class hardware directly onto them. To support local businesses, all our furniture components, including hardware and screws, are Australian made and distributed.

As advocates of Australian craftsmanship, May House Timber values the concept of single-man workshops and the time-honored techniques they employ. We take great pride in overseeing every aspect of the build process, ensuring that the final quality meets your utmost satisfaction. Throughout the construction, we will keep you updated on the progress, sharing photos and videos to showcase how your unique piece is coming to life.

While landfill waste is an unfortunate reality, we strive to minimize our impact by repurposing raw and untreated wood shavings into garden stakes and other useful items. This not only serves a practical purpose but also contributes to the cycle of nature and benefits our local communities.

May House Timber takes its name from our daughter, May, and was founded by Bao Nguyen, a Mechanical Designer engineer, and his wife Anh Nguyen, a creative art designer. Bao's passion for woodworking grew naturally over the years, leading him to pursue an Honours in Production Design at RMIT University. Together, they envisioned a business that focused on sustainable and recyclable materials, which has become their lifelong mission.
