"Amazing and lovely restaurant. Been going to the place for years. Both my partner and I don't really go anywhere else when we eat out. The staff are always welcoming and kind. I have also taken my 2 young children there as well, great with children. Couldn't fault the food at all! It's based in a nice central location with parking nearby. Would highly recommend."

"This very popular place in the centre of the city was my choice for a light refreshment and a bite to eat. It’s classic Italian style decor and menu options together with the cool ceiling fans made it a refreshing change from all the burgers bars. I was served by Natalia who was pleasant and helpful. She even made sure my drinks glass was spotless. How’s that for detail! I have no hesitation in recommending this place for any occasion. It’s always a popular place in the evenings too so be sure to check for a reservation."

"I was a bit reluctant to try La Tavernetta at first as there were other Italian restaurants around I'd rather try first. However I'm quite pleased my mates and I decided to have lunch here. From the start, staff were very friendly and welcoming. They allowed us in despite turning up 10 minutes earlier than what we originally reserved. Food was amazing, and cooked perfectly. Everything, from starters to mains to pudding was simply made fresh. Prices were a bit high but the food was well worth the money spent. My Tagliatelle with beef and mushroom in creamy sauce left me feeling full for hours. The pizza was big enough that my mate struggled to finish it. Also, their desserts were impeccable. None was too sweet or sugary. The apple crumble was warm and homey and the tira misu was delicate and fluffy. I tried the pistachio gelato and it was flavourful, creamy and had great likeness to the one I had in Florence. Overall, this restaurant deserves my utmost recommendation."

"Not the most authentic but great Italian in Southampton in a central Location. The mussels were one of the best I've ever had. Penne was good too although the sauce was slightly sour in my opinion. The price is good. Would definitely recommend."
