Recognized for his contributions, he was honored with the Young OD of the Year award by the WVAOP and the 2019 Dr. W. David Sullins, Jr. InfantSee award. Dr. Carpenter is also a noted lecturer on topics such as infant eye exams and ocular injections.Dr. Philip Wilmoth: Dr. Wilmoth, originally from Elkins, WV, graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He moved to Fairmont in 1984 and joined Dr. Robert DiTosti’s established practice, which he later took over, forming Fairmont Eye Care, Inc. Under his leadership, the practice has expanded its facilities and services, especially with the addition of Dr. Carpenter in 2003.
