Dr. Carpenter has been practicing full-scope optometry in West Virginia since graduating from the Southern College of Optometry in 2003. A native of Belington, WV, and a 1999 graduate of West Virginia University, Dr. Carpenter is deeply involved in the optometry community. He is a member of the West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians (WVAOP) and the American Optometric Association (AOA). Over the years, Dr. Carpenter has held several leadership roles within the WVAOP, including serving as legislative chair and on the executive board. He is a past President of the association and currently serves on the legislative committee. Recognized for his contributions, he was honored with the Young OD of the Year award by the WVAOP and the 2019 Dr. W. David Sullins, Jr. InfantSee award. Dr. Carpenter is also a noted lecturer on topics such as infant eye exams and ocular injections.Dr. Philip Wilmoth:

Dr. Wilmoth, originally from Elkins, WV, graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He moved to Fairmont in 1984 and joined Dr. Robert DiTosti’s established practice, which he later took over, forming Fairmont Eye Care, Inc. Under his leadership, the practice has expanded its facilities and services, especially with the addition of Dr. Carpenter in 2003. Dr. Wilmoth prides himself on maintaining a tradition of compassionate, friendly, and professional eye care. Outside of the office, Dr. Wilmoth enjoys outdoor activities, church involvement, and spending time with his family.Our Services:At Martin W.
