“Update 8th Feb 8,months since my last visit They not only have equalled the previous service and food experience they have absolutely surpassed it. This Japanese food is the most delicious Japanese food in New Zealand. No matter the meal the food offered excelled my expectations at every level. This shop nails japanese cuisine everytime. The staff are amazingly friendly and I know will probably eat there more as the whole package of great food good prices and great service is unequalled in NZ I truely recommend for everyone wanting to experience genuine Japanese food call in on them in lower lambton quay. I enjoyed a very delicious brunch a sakura special It was absolutely amazing it was totally authentic. I recently had a bad experience with a sushi chain in Auckland. But Sakura Sushi is the real deal. “. (05/2018) This one is among top 3 in my list of Sushi restaurants in Wellington. Conveniently located over busy Lambton Quay and can be easily missed if not carefully looked out for. Easily accessible. Well managed, organised and nicely maintained. Sushi is on display for the customers to pick around from the standing area with detailed info provided for people with specific dietary requirements. Spacious but limited seating. Excellent ambiance and cosy atmosphere. Self-service. Helpful staff. Plentiful food options. Have not noticed these many delicious Sushi options to choose from for vegans and vegetarians at any other Sushi restaurant. Yum preparations. Good presentation. Offers takeaways. Good place for quick bite. Normally busy during peak hours. Reservation cannot be made in advance. PayWave facility is available at this location. Could not notice wheelchair accessible seating or high chair in plain view at this location. Outdoor seating is not available. There is no dedicated parking area available for this restaurant although street parking can be found around the entrance. Entrance is wheelchair accessible. Liked the experience.”

“Keep coming back here! The sushi train is so tempting and delicious. Great solution for delicious, quick lunch with no hustle. It is strategically located in Cuba st. The place is not so big but can decently accomodate 20ish people. You can get a variety of sushi here, with salmon, beef, chicken, tuna, and vegetarian choices as well. It has Udon, ramen and miso soup. They also provide tempura, tiramisu, cream puff and various Japanese cider. They also have kids’ menu.”

Highly recommended for quick, casual and great date or family experience, or even alone. It all works. We've been going to catch since the nineties, then with our kids as they grew up, and now just ourselves again, or with our now 20-somethings who still love it.”

“This is the best idea ever, a great variety of rolls for all tastes and you just pick what you want. Suits everyone as im sure they had some vegan ones at the front. Its self service so pick up a container and slide open the doors to get your desired sushi. Place looks decently clean and you can get bigger meals if you need. Price is really good too. I highly recommend this place for a good nutritionly dense lunch. Thank you”

Compared to my usual sushi place, OneSushi sushi definitely tastes fresh and I'm not too sure if its only me that notices this but the rice seems softer and it tastes better mustn't forget the pickled ginger looked homemade - it gave a refreshing taste in-between sushi rolls (a lot better than the pink packet ginger stuff normally around) Definitely the place to go for sushi!”
