Dr. April Walter
● ClosedDr. April Walter, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of The Center for Psychological Health in Seattle. She is also a co-founder of The Center for Family & Lifespan Development in Federal Way, as well as The Center for Psychological Research, a nonprofit research center focused on autism. Dr. Walter specializes in treating individuals and families dealing with neuropsychological issues, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, PTSD, and Anxiety. She utilizes a combination of family systems approach and cognitive behavioral therapies in her practice. Dr. Walter has a background in working with families in divorce recovery group therapy and serving as an Intensive Family Preservationist for the Institute for Family Development. She also has experience in individual therapy, including inpatient group therapy at Harborview Medical Center and individual and group therapy at Antioch University Clinic. Dr. Walter is dedicated to helping adults with autism lead independent and fulfilling lives, and she has founded a nonprofit organization called A Complete 180 to provide housing and job training to individuals on the autism spectrum. She is currently conducting research on Neuropsychological treatment approaches for those on the Autism Spectrum, Insight and Autism, and a program for adults on the Autism Spectrum focusing on independent living, relationships, college, and employment. Dr. Walter sees patients at both The Center for Psychological Health in Seattle and The Center for Family and Lifespan Development in Federal Way.
