River Oaks Apartments

"I was Suppose to move in December 2nd. Because of my occupation i was told during my initial applying process that fees would be waived. Everyone’s deposit is different some people don’t have to pay a deposit some do unfortunately mine came back to where I did but Anna the assisttold me she would waive it also because of my occupation. THAT IS WAS MADE ME WANT TO MOVE THERE EVEN MORE. No one wants to pay all those fees and when your service is recognized by doing small things like that it’s appreciated.I toured the model home and loved it enough to say yes also and commit. Christian whom was very very nice insured me that the model home was identical to what I would receive as a unit. A week before move in I get a call from the Assistant manager Anna saying they have to push my move in back because the current resident weren’t able to turn their keys in just yet. So I informed them that that wasn’t going to work for me. Is there another unit. They moved me to another unit and offered me the lower price of the lowest unit. After touring the apt I noticed the washer and dryer was super super tiny and not what I seen in the model. They told me I wasn’t suppose to see that washer and dryer because it’s not what they have in their units and that the district manager made a mistake ordering the wrong one and having got in the model to where potential residents like me can see and things they’re receiving. We went back and forth about to where I had to email the district manager who by the way never responded back. Anna calls and tells me we’ll give u the washer and dryer but only if u pay monthly for it. So no accommodation for their mistake just a complete rip off. I Cole I’m ready to move im and now Anna is asking me for an amount I wasn’t expecting to pay. To my understanding I had a $750 credit she went and deducted a $500 deposit from that and other fees to where now I only have $177 credit available. Now Anna is rude with her tone she’s like deal with it your staying or not. It was so unwelcoming. Now Anna is claiming she doesn’t waive deposits and she didn’t offer that to me over the phone. So I kindly told her to cancel my move in I’m leaving. Don’t want to deal with them for a year if this is how they run they’re office. The place is to expensive nothing is included you have to pay everything Separately parking,water,trash,sewer,electric,internet.Not worth it and deal with their unprofessional , greediness.I went across the street to Meridian Bay Apartments where Maria and her wonderful staff were kind and treated my like family. Everything is included even Cable and internet besides electricity and their adding new townhomes and apartments for anyone who wants Brand new. Highly recommend coming here a place where your wants and needs matter and your not just money for their property!"

"Property is well maintained, maintenance is okay. I have had an experience where the patio was supposed to be cleaned due to scribble and they sprayed a different color paint over it. The trash system is convenient, but I do wish there were more dumpsters. This is only because when I first moved, I had a lot of boxes and trash. Too many since they only take two bags. The only huge downside to this apartment is that there is no elevator, and I live on the 4th floor. It was a nightmare moving my furniture up the stairs. But overall, seems like a nice place to stay temporarily!"

"Let me tell you about river oaks apartments… I absolutely love it. I was stationed in Okinawa Japan and deployed to the Philippines when I started the process of leasing my apartment. The apartment staff, Mr. Felix, was extremely patient when working with me over email to finalize everything prior to arriving in the states. I wanted an apartment with more of a upscale look to it, and I definitely got it. The neighborhood is very nice and clean. The pool and grill area is very nice. The gym has treadmills, a small amount of dumbbells, some cable machines, and a benchpress among other things. Directly next to the apartment complex is an international market store. They have lots of different styles of international foods and some of the best prices on produce that I have ever seen. If you enjoy cooking non-American food or just want good produce I highly recommend it. Within a two minute drive from the apartment there is a gym, pizza place, Cajun place, a 7-Eleven, Applebee’s and a great wall Chinese restaurant. And a ABC store!!! Parking is a bit stringent. But that’s how it is in Virginia anywhere. With good traffic conditions I can get to Quantico via Route 1 in 15-20 minutes. 95 is probably a 10 minute drive. Potomac Mills and IKEA or roughly 20 to 25 minutes away."
