The park has a rich history dating back to the Great Depression when the dam and reservoir were constructed for agricultural irrigation. Today, local residents operate the recreation concessions for the reservoir and resort on the property. During the winter months, campsites are first come first serve, but cottages can still be reserved through Reserve America. Some park facilities may be closed for winterization. Reservations for camping are available starting May 1st, four months in advance.

Quail Creek State Park
β ClosedQuail Creek State Park, located at 472 5300 West, Hurricane, Utah, United States, is a popular tourist attraction and park known for its warm waters and mild winter climate. Boaters and anglers are drawn to the park year-round to enjoy activities such as camping, hiking, and exploring. The park enforces Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, prohibiting open fires except within designated areas. Construction on the road accessing the park will take place from Fall/Winter 2023 through Summer 2024, but the park will remain open. A day-use fee will be enforced at the DWR Field Office/South Overlook parking lot starting May 1, 2023. The reservoir at Quail Creek was completed in 1985 to provide water to the St. George area, with most of the water coming from the Virgin River. The reservoir is home to a variety of fish species, including rainbow trout, bullhead catfish, and largemouth bass.
