The UTHealth Swimming Pool is a part of the larger University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston campus, located at 1832 West Road in Houston, Texas. This full-service facility aims to promote work-life balance by offering a variety of facilities, equipment, and programs designed for fitness, fun, and friendly competition. The highlight of the Recreation Center is the heated outdoor Olympic-size swimming pool, but it also features a wide range of cardiovascular equipment, free weights, resistance equipment, courts for various sports, and outdoor jogging trails with fitness stations. The center offers programs such as personal training, group fitness classes, recreational sports, swim lessons, and certification courses by the American Heart Association. Membership is open to students, residents, faculty, staff, and families affiliated with the Texas Medical Center and UT System, with rates varying based on affiliation. Additionally, there is a new satellite facility located at the penthouse floor of the McGovern Medical School, which includes cardio and resistance machines for a full-body workout. Membership to this facility is open to UTHealth students, faculty, and staff only. Access to both facilities requires registration in advance, and UT ID badge access is required. The Recreation Center also offers a 2-week free trial for faculty, staff, and residents of UTHealth.
