Hampton Inn San Antonio-Downtown (River Walk Area)

"Great location and easy to get to River Walk. Be mindful of the walk signs and side of street to walk on, but overall great access and experience for the price point. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast each morning was good and fresh. Access to highway is very easy and user friendly. Great place to stay for work trips along with personal stays."

"Great option for those who want to save a little money and still be close to the Alamo, Convention Center, and Riverwalk. Its about a 5 minute walk to the Alamo and Mall, and 8-10 minutes to the river walk, 20 minutes to Aztec Theater. There is gated parking for an extra fee. The rooms are nice, and breakfast had many options. It is located right next to the highway so the atmosphere isn't as good as those hotels closer to the action. Not a problem for me."

"RJ at the Front Desk is the best! Housekeeping needs a refresher course so they can figure out how to properly reset and clean the bedrooms. Upon arrival there was socks left underneath the TV stand and used tissues in the closet. Also better communication is needed between the front desk and housekeeping. I asked for nobody to come into my room during my stay but they did and then also attempted to come into the room when I was approved for a late checkout. Overall good location and staff, would recommend if it weren't for the dirty room, pictures included."

"I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I’m a Hilton honors member, and usually try to find Hampton Inn’s when I travel, but I will avoid this one and tell all of my friends, families and any colleagues to do the same. We were kept awake by a neighbors TV being left on too loud for most of the night. We tired several times to get the front desk to intervene, but no one was able to do anything to help. The next morning, the manger offered us a discount on the room and parking. I got the bill and no discount had been applied. I called and discussed it again. Once again, no discount. I tried to make another reservation with the same hotel, just a few days later, hoping to give them another chance, however when I had to cancel 24 hours before check in they charged me for the full price of the room. Some of this is unavoidable, but some of it is just sloppy and extremely poor customer service. Again, I’m a Hilton fan, I’m even a Hampton Inn fan, but this one will never have my business again, and I’ll be sure to tell others to look for any of the other hotels nearby. I would almost guarantee they have a better experience elsewhere."

"Nice hotel. Rooms were clean and pretty big. Location was ideal for The Alamo and also The Riverwalk. Pretty much everything was within a half a mile. We walked everywhere. Breakfast was pretty good. Hot items-waffles and mixed fruit along with breads & muffins. Breakfast area was always busy but they have quite a bit of seating. Parking was at a premium. $30 to self park, but it was a gated lot. We thought it was well worth the price knowing if we did leave we'd have a spot to park and that it seemed safe. They do have some parking for free outfront. But I'd be afraid if I left there might not be a spot when I came back. Overall I would stay here again if in the area."
