Cannock Chase Country Park
“We went to the stepping stones and then into the forest around. A beautiful place with outstanding view”
Holme Meadow
“Excellent place to allow our Huskys to play freely and run off leash. Big field. Could do with some enrichment for the dogs, like logs, agility equipment, but otherwise great place to exercise safely.”
Malibu Hot Tubs Ltd
“First class service, we were refreshed to not be guided to the most expensive option but to the one that best suited us. From our first visit all the way to us using and maintaining our hot tub we would recommend the team 100%.”
Wildwood Park
“Good friendly park. Lots for kids to do, plenty of places for parents to sit. It's got a skate park and an outdoor gym which can be fun for both adults and children”
Maidenhead Aquatics Mere Park
“Went into Maidenhead Aquatics this afternoon - all staff extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Advised us on what was needed and punted us to some buy one get one free fish! Fabulous!”
Victoria Park
“The park is beautiful and spacious. There is an aviary and glasshouse at one end. There's also Albert's cafe next to them. On the opposite side of the park, there is a children's play park. The river Sow runs through the park, and paths for walks along it. Most of the park is accessible for wheelchairs but the glass house may be difficult. There are also a few steep bridges around the park but there are alternative paths. Toilets are also available near the cafe. There are plenty of benches and rest areas. The park is across the road from the train station, and right next to the town centre.”
Beaconside Sports & Fitness
“This review is more nostalgic for me, as Beaconside sports centre used to be my gym when Staffordshire university was based at the 'stafford campus'. Was ideal being in halls at the time as only a stones throw from the gym. That being said, I owe a lot of my first 'newbie gains' to this gym when i was 18yo, and was the first place that I really found a passion to want to keep training. From the recent photos it has of course massively changed, considering it was 2007/2008 when i went here last, but seems like its evolved with even better equipment, both CV and weights and still looks like it has a good member base. Just glad to see it still up and running, and hopefully will continue to do so. Not so much a 'current review', but if i can vouch for this place over a decade ago, it certainly must be an even better place to train today.”
West Bridge Park Fitness Centre
“Excellent facilities. Staff always go above and beyond the call of duty to be helpfull and informative. Love both the gym and pool which are kept spotlessly clean by staff. Can't wait to get back to the centre following national lockdown.”
Stone House Hotel
“Great hotel. Room was a single, ample for what I needed. Very clean and the food in the restaurant was amazing. We had Indian food and it was fantastic. Restaurant staff lovely. Would definitely return and recommend”
Kuotos Swim
“I stumbled upon Ian by accident. A local elite triathlon coach recommended him as he has done for a number of athletes he oversees. Ian has vast experience in competitive swimming and water polo but more important than this he has genuine talent as a teacher and coach. He has shown great interest in my goals and only after a short period of time has massively improved my freestyle technique increasing both speed and efficiency of effort. He spends a great deal of time carefully analysing my technique and breaking down my imperfections and correcting them in an easy to understand way enabling me to further improve in my training swim sessions. He has not taught my young 3 year old son yet but I take him in the pool with me prior to my teaching session and he has interacted and communicated with him in such a way that I can tell he is also talented at engaging with youngsters. I recommend Ian and Kuotos swimming to anyone young or old wishing to either learn to swim from scratch or improve and develop as a swimmer”
Stone and District Swimming Club
“Great Club with a great history. Many generations of the people of Stone have come through this club. Coaches and Staff remain enthusiastic and very approachable”
Penkridge Leisure Centre
“Had a lovely afternoon attending the Family swim 1pm till 3pm. Pool was warm with a nice quiet atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and welcoming”
Stone Leisure Centre
“Lovely place. I'm using the Stafford club at the moment to gain the knowledge I need for safe and long term health. Once I've learnt these important methods from Anthony I'll be using Stone too as closer for me.”
Womere
“Once thought to be bottomless, this rare example of upland bog has some of Cannock chase's most unique features. This bog rarely dries out as it is fed by a water table that surfaces in the middle of a reasonable sized bowl on a hilltop, along with many other species you will see the cotton grass and various dragonflies. This area is also reputed to be the inspiration for Guy N Smith's "The Sucking Pit" novel (a prequel to his Walking Dead series of novels).”
