Water park in Sheffield

“Great place to visit for the outdoors. Beautiful lake with plenty of walking/cycling routes. Slightly busier than normal but thats kind of to be expected considering. Not many places to sit at the moment but theres plenty of grass.”

“Really lovely even despite the heavy rain during our visit—coffee and snacks were still being sold, staff were friendly and helpful, parking was plentiful, dog walkers and cyclists were courteous, grounds were clean, pumpkins were dotted about along with little spots for autumnal photos. Our kids had buckets of fun puddle jumping and finding dry dens as shelter from the weather (and so did we!)—we'll definitely be back to explore more of the grounds and I'll update my review then, too x x”

“Beautiful park and great fun for kids visiting the farm. Entry is free but if you arrive by car, please note there is a pay and display car park. Loads of animals, good layout, sufficient rest places for small feet and great playground. Can't fault it and highly recommend visiting for big and small.”

“My favourite park in Sheffield. Nestled in between the university and hospitals, it's a lovely place to take a leisurely walk and forget about the days troubles!”

“Bit of an awkward drive (if you are coming from out of Sheffield /m1) -but worth it. It was a lovely farm, felt nourished we had a fantastic time. Was lovely seeing the Guinea pigs looked after and loads of space to roam.”

“Surprisingly very large car park. £4.75/day for cans and vans. 5mins walk to Owley Tor 15 mins walk to Milestone Edge. (Best every view from the top of the hill) Evening hours- golden hours would blow your mind. They dont have any bins anywhere near the Peak District National Park. So keep some spare bags to carry the bins and bring them back to car. No toilet facilities available anywhere near the area. At least we haven’t seen one.”

“Ideal walk around main ponds for disabled as most of paths are flat, just dont venture into the nature reserve as it can be boggy and quite uneven. Cafe when open is ok for drinks but check the menue prices for food as can be expensive compared to other country parks I visit.”

“Beautiful walk all around the lake . Can waLk onto fishing points to watch the birds . Children's park was busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves”

“Surprisingly large park right in the heart of Sheffield, great for a day out with the family or to forget you're in a city for a little while. They have a cafe and toilets, big play area and a car park right next to it. It also has some of the original features of the park from when it opened.”

“Great small play area for younger children. Parking on the road. Nice cafe. Lido sometimes open but to be honest an expensive white elephant, much better before it was altered. Children often in the river but unsuitable for young children.”

“Great little park and we'll kept. Nice cafe and still has public toilets ( well kept aswell ). Sand pit and crazy golf open during summer months. Also has outdoor adult gym equipment. Love it”

“I went for a lovely walk with my daughter and grandchildren. The pathways were clear of obstructions and well defined. There's 2 football pitches marked out, waterways and pond where the waterfowls of the area can gather, great photo opportunities available and even a large Caterpillar for kids to play on. We went on a winter day so wrapped up warm and only went in one direction so we plan on going again to explore some more. Thoroughly recommend as it's back to nature and enjoyed for free is always a bonus .”

“Great venue, had 2 good days fishing there, well worth a visit, I fished Eves lake, there are 2 more lakes to fish, which were busy, the venue has a very good cafe and toilets.”

“Hillsborough Park is great! There's a new little cafe that's opened that's lovely, there's toilets there and at the bowling green. The duck pond is always a must and there are also sports courts and a new bicycle track!”

“Somersall Park is a wonderful green space for walking, with or without a dog. There's plenty of space for everyone. This includes mown areas which have a football pitch and a play park for children. There is also plenty of wild spaces including Walton Dam which has Ducks, Geese, Moorhen, Coots and Swans. If you're really lucky you may even see a kingfisher or Heron fishing for a meal. Certainly somewhere worth exploring. There is a small carpark for visitors.”

“Top landlords nice beer an friendly folk. Nice local type pub but houses woodhouses own beer monster. Come on down Mr Simon Burridge. Only joking he's a top man but he does often drink the pub dry. Only when hes thirsty though. Top local pub”

“Great for walking the dog along the river you can take this trail to the dog and dog or to Edwinstowe if you please”

“Great place to take you dogs, or family, nice little lake to walk around and birds to see, there is a kids play area with a rope swing and a zip line, football pitches and a dog training area, bowls.”
