Matthew J. Plante, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. Located at 285 Promenade Street in Providence, Rhode Island, Dr. Plante focuses on treating adult and pediatric injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle. He offers expertise in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery, ACL and complex knee ligament reconstructions, shoulder instability and rotator cuff surgery, meniscal repair and cartilage restoration, and complex extremity trauma. Dr. Plante is recognized for his lectures on ACL reconstruction and rotator cuff surgery, and has been named an Associate Master Instructor by the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has worked with professional, college, and high school sports teams, including the Pawtucket Red Sox and Brown University.
