“Great local pet store. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We bought 2 lop eared rabbits from AP's and they're absolutely lovely. I now buy all out pet consumables from here rather than any of the national stores.”

“We were shopping for supplies for our first puppy, who we collect in four weeks time. The first thing we noticed were the friendly customers chatting with us about their dogs, asking about ours, letting us pet their puppies etc. We were approached by several members of staff asking if we needed help, and checking we'd downloaded the app for the associated discounts. The ladies on the till were similarly nice and helpful, enthusiastic about our impending arrival, and wanting to see photos. A lovely start to our puppy-owning journey!”

“The staff are really good, have had everything I need every time I've visited for my puppy with the exception of crate covers, which they do online. Shame they're not in store as I bought the crate there 3 days ago.”

“This is a smaller branch, no groomer or vet in store as the big ones have. Big free car park right outside. We went as it was possible to take the dog inside to try on coats. Stock was fairly low with little choice as it was so close to Xmas but we were fortunate to find one. Staff were pleasant and helpful.”

“Visited on Thursday to buy some new dog food to our puppy on as she had been continuously vomiting since we got her. I asked for some advice on the different types to food to help with making a choice are there are so many options and I wasn’t sure what would be best for her. The staff get training on nutrition and Becca was absolutely amazing. She took time to ask about our puppy and what the problem was, explained what all the different ingredients are, the pros and cons as well as sharing her own experiences. Really helpful and genuinely cared. Thank you Becca for everything!! Pets are home Newgate Lane will be our choice of store from now on!”

“We have been coming here for the last 5 years since we got our dog. We love the friendly vibe and range of different pet food, treats, accessories and toys. Lara is very knowledgeable and helpful. The dog pick and mix by the counter is an excellent idea as is supporting the locals who knit individual dog jumpers. The range of natural treats for pets is excellent. The window displays are fun and great parking right out front. A superb business. Shop local and support independent businesses.”

When we decided to switch our dogs food to raw we went into store and Julie was so helpful and friendly sharing her knowledge and giving us different options, educating us which was refreshing compared to other places who were extremely forceful on their opinions. I love the choice they have and great availability. I’m particularly grateful for the amazing and fast delivery service! I’ve been caught short a few times realising we’re low on dog food and I think in all instances I’ve had the same day delivery.”

“I cannot recommend Muttkuts enough. I have a nervous dog, which in turn makes me nervous leaving him in new places but Caroline and her team were fantastic and made me feel at ease straight away. I explained that I'd had a bad experience elsewhere and they were absolutely fantastic and listened to everything I asked and Loki came out looking and smelling incredible! By chance I asked them if they would order ever again.....to my delight the staff looked at the order catalogue and ordered some to be picked 2 days later from the shop and now they sell it back again :) I am a good customer as I buy everything from them so I felt valued, this means to me they care about their walk-in customers but also their locals ones! :) :)”
