"My hubby & I went there a couple of times to buy lumber for fencing whose price was comparable to big box stores. SQ is in Springfield, on Main St. so is convenient for us. The staff informed us that hardware prices are little high although they started as a hardware store & become more of a lumber business. One day my hubby needed a little square of wood to make a door for the garage attic. Instead of charging us for new plywood, they found a piece & trimmed it, the price reflecting that. They cut other wood for you. Pros: Excellent customer service, good assortment & prices for lumber. Convenient location. Cons: higher prices for hardware."

"Best service and best prices in the area! It is amazing to me that the local guys with ONE STORE can blow the big box stores out of the water with price or even match them for that matter. That speaks volumes on how much brand H-D, brand L (and unfortunately brand J) are overcharging. The staff is extremely helpful and always looking for smart ways to save you money. Do yourself a favor and stay away from shopping at the big box stores (all of them) unless you absolutely have to. Surprising amount of inventory (especially the supplies you need ) AND if by chance they don't have exactly what you are looking for in stock, they can order it and get it pretty darn fast (just like the big box guys.) I used to be a brand J guy, now I'm a Square Deal guy. =]"
"Absolutely awesome they have beaten the big chains every single time for me. There customer service is the best ive seen in over 20 yrs. Anything i can buy there i do . and the quality of materiel is much better also! It absolutely blows my mind that a privately owned yard can beat national chains. In price and quality."
