Brewster's Mansion
Brewster's Mansion, located at 9 Aurora Street in Hudson, Ohio, is a stunning Gothic Revival house built by Frederick W. Bunnell for Anson A. Brewster. This unique stone mansion is the only one of its kind in the Western Reserve. Anson A. Brewster, an early entrepreneur in Hudson, had high hopes for the mansion to be part of a grand development in the town with the arrival of the railroads. The mansion features intricate architectural details such as drip moldings, lancet windows, minarets, onion domes, and quatre foils. The property was originally owned by Owen Brown, father of abolitionist John Brown, and underwent renovations in 1982 and 1984 to restore its historic charm.
