North Carolina Theatre
The North Carolina Theatre, located at 1 East South Street in Raleigh, North Carolina, is Raleigh's largest professional theatre company specializing in live musical theatre. For 40 years, the North Carolina Theatre has been a beacon of professional performing arts in North Carolina, housed within the Martin Marietta Performing Arts Center in downtown Raleigh. Unfortunately, due to financial challenges, the NCT Board of Directors has announced the implementation of a financial restructuring by seeking protection under Chapter 11 and suspending the remainder of its 2024 season. Despite these challenges, the North Carolina Theatre remains committed to its mission of providing arts programming through the NCT Conservatory. The Conservatory offers year-round theatre classes for youth ages 3 to adult, providing training in acting, dancing, and voice performance. The NCT also offers education programs through its In-School Engagement program, working with school and community partners across the Triangle.
