“Popped in here by chance for an early lunch with my teenage son and I’m so pleased that we did. The menu is varied and what is on offer is unique and delicious. I had a salted chili chicken salad which was amazing. Tobacco onions, baby spinach, pasta, chicken and sriracha sauce are just some of the ingredients that I remember. I like spicy food rather than just hot food, and although this had a bit of a kick, it tasted fantastic. The coffee was great and the fruit smoothie were also lovely. We will make a point of coming back. If this coffee shop were in a city, there’d be a queue out the door!”

“This B&B was recommended by a relative due to so many positive aspects all of which were correct. The location provides fabulous and inspiring sea and mountain views. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and individually themed. The service from the owner, Maria, is second to none and she was so welcoming, friendly and attentive. My partner and I stayed for two nights at the end of June and we were given a fantastic room with a balcony. The house itself was easy to find and I used Google maps for straightforward directions, it is basically located parallel to the promenade and a short distance from the Slieve Donald Hotel. There is a service tray with tea and coffee in the room and the breakfast was delicious and cooked to order, I availed of the large fry on both mornings and it was great. I can't recommend this B&B highly enough and it is certainly the place to stay when visiting Newcastle.”

“After a recent last minute visit, we are already trying to plan our return trip! A true hidden gem, not to be overlooked. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we cannot speak highly enough of them, they all had a smile on their face and chatted away to us even after a busy new years weekend. The location is ideal for anyone visiting Castlewellan Forest Park (which is also unreal). We ate at The Yard Restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and have absolutely no complaints - food and cocktails were delicious. The rooms are bigger than you'd expect, while still being cosy. They are spotlessly clean, as are the spacious bathrooms. The only negative we found was that we didn't allow ourselves enough time to spend here. Overall - we loved it here, and cannot wait to return soon. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway!”

“Fantastic Pub / Restaurant, amazing food and always a great atmosphere. Also dog friendly in the front bar, where you can also eat, which is a big bonus as most other venues in the local area do not allow dogs inside. They also have one of the best beer gardens I've ever seen, a real sun trap.”
