“The Savoy Cafe is definitely one of my favourite places in Newcastle to go, Paddy and all the staff are welcoming, courteous and friendly and the service and food is exceptional. It’s a lovely place to relax and chill out whilst having some beautiful food. We literally went here most days for breakfast and dinner because it was great value for great food with a good selection. From burgers and goujons to fries and salads, everything was cooked to perfection! Thank you guys, we’ll definitely be back! 100% my favourite place in Newcastle!”

“The food here is fantastic. Huge quantities and great quality for a good price. We were also very impressed with how well they have followed covid restrictions. The tables are properly spaced apart with open windows. We haven't really been eating indoors at restaurants yet but I had no concerns eating here. Staff were polite and very helpful. When we took the baby outside to get him to sleep, they offered to keep my husband's food warm until he returned. Would love to come again!”

“My wife and I called for afternoon tea. Polite, friendly service. We had to wait a few minutes before our table was ready. When the food came, wow. Great selection of desserts with our meal. Sandwiches were delicious and the scones were still warm arriving. The tray bake selection was great. Service quick and cheerful and price unbelievable. £29 between us, fantastic value”

Chef Jon Carlo is worth the entrance fee alone - a floor show - and turns out super, reasonably priced food. “Excellent spot. I didn’t know there were any sushi places close to home (Armagh). A huge amount of sushi for 2 was only €60 (a complete bargain to rival costs in Dublin/Belfast). Aside from cost, the sushi was excellent. We got a variety of rolls/sashimi/gyoza. Service was great too! It was really busy when we arrived there and everything was under good control. The place was also very clean and nicely decorated.”

“I had 2 dogs with me so finding somewhere to sit outside in newry is not easy. My first time here and they are very experienced in serving food. The place was spotless. The food hot, tasty and delivered quickly. Condiments clean and well stocked. But the star of the show was the incredibly friendly, efficient and accommodating waitress. She saw I had the dogs and immediately took me a menu, brought all the accoutrements outside to me and informed me my food would not be long. Her service was excellent and it shows she has been doing if for some time and loves it. All done with a smile and graciousness. Thank you. We will be back.”

“Overlooking Newry canal and located less than 20 metres from merchants quay this modern bistro offers a delicious menu in a relaxed atmosphere. They serve a large selection of gourmet sandwiches along with breakfast and lunch. They serve Bewleys coffee and a great selection of scones and traybakes. I would highly recommend this bistro.”

“Really tasty food. Theres a bit of a wait but its worth it. Everything's really fresh. I've been here twice now. Their menu has something for everyone including vegetarian options. Chips are lovely and the batter is crispy and light. Prices are very reasonable and portions are big. Will definitely be back again”

“This is the best cafe in Newcastle! Food is delicious, in all the years I've been visiting I've never had a bad meal. I can especially recommend the French Toast Stack or the Full Fry. Their sandwiches and toasties are really fantastic and they do an excellent Cappuccino too. It's always busy, which is a great sign for how popular it is!! Worth waiting for a table!”
